Stocks added to their sharp losses Thursday, with the S&P 500 piercing through a key technical support level, as ongoing economic jitters in addition to a gloomy outlook from the Federal Reserve fueled fears of a global recession.
The Dow bobbed in and out of its August closing low of 10,719.94 and is on track for its worst week in almost 2-1/2 years.

Move was on much larger volume than what was normal for today. A lot of money that had been sitting on the sidelines jumped into the market all at once. Don't know if it was PPT or just some news I haven't seen yet. At least nothing on the wires at the moment looks to me to be the cause of a big positive move.

No doubt "Unexpected"...
No worries though...Obama is holding an online Q&A on LinkedIn about jobs Sept. 26. I'm sure that will calm the markets...

Oh No, expect a big drop tomorrow.

But why is silver in freefall, I thought PMs usually go opposite the stock market in economic uncertainty. Of coarse with Obama, we are certain what it means to the economy.

And it’s dropping again. I was noticing the volume as well. It is as if the PPT or someone bought a lot to either do what the PPT is there for, or legitimately snapping up bargains, but the market disagreed, and down it fell again.

The down moves are on high volume liquidation sales.
The up moves are on very low volume transactions planned to move the stock price back up.
Remember, there is no weighted average. All of a stock is valued at the last share price no matter the volume. It’s called, screw the people that don’t know how it is manipulated.
Question: What stocks are the Fed buying and when???
