On Thursday, September 22, environmentalists want you to feel guilty about driving cars. In other words, its annual World Car-Free Day.
Instead of celebrating the many ways that the automobile has liberated and improved the lives of ordinary people, environmentalists want to suggest that rejecting the car for a day is somehow virtuous. The governor of Massachusetts is going even further by advocating a car-free week notwithstanding the governors real-world choice to drive around in an SUV this week.

Tomorrow I’m going to commute 37 miles - each way - by myself.

400 miles on the bike in 3 days. Last weekend for the boat coming up. I love emissions.

Well I guess not driving a car for a day is a quaint idea if you are a liberal living off daddy’s trust fund or one of the chronically unemployed Starbucks bums. But the rest of us have to be adults and go to work.

Well, how convenient!
I need to make a long trip tomorrow, driving my 1978 pre-computer 350 V8 El Camino.
If anyone in my state is dumb enough to participate in this stupidity I will enjoy the reduction in traffic to drive faster and burn MORE fuel!
I think I will take the longer scenic route.

As much as I detest GM, Id love to drive the biggest, baddest Hummer I could find tomorrow. While you weren't looking (or paying attention ...) GM sold the Hummer brand to the Chinese.
Pick your poison on that one!

Sept 22, an excellent day to start up my two trucks, auto, Jeep, tractor, lawnmower and garden tiller.
I may even start my weed trimmer to go along with it!

My only regret is that I dont have a fire breathing
V-8 of some kind.
You should smack your forehead with your palm and say,
“WOW, I could have had a V-8”. : }
To: umgud
I suggest “eco-nut free” day or “lib free” day. Those I could do. Instead I’ll take out my big V8 and just drive for the hell of it tomorrow.

let’s have an anti Birkenstock day to beautify the world. Let’s make it illegal to wear socks and sandals to further beautify the world.
