KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 20 (UPI) -- A Missouri kindergartner brought his mother's crack pipe and an ounce of drugs to his school's show-and-tell day, police said.
The children had been told to bring important family items to class at the Sweet Springs school, and school officials called police when the child produced the pipe and several baggies of drugs from his backpack, KCTV, Kansas City, reported Monday.
Police said the child's mother, Michelle Marie Cheatham, 32, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and one count of first-degree child endangerment.
Police Chief Richard Downing said a child bringing drugs to show-and-tell was a first in his law enforcement career.
"When I called the prosecutor about it, they said, 'You're kidding me, aren't you?'"
The boy is now being cared for by family members, a family friend told KCTV.

This reminds me of the time as a Pastor I was visiting some folks and they told their kid to go get the big book that mommy and daddy looked at all the time....( expecting him to bring the Bible) the kid brought out the Sears and Roebuck catalog...ok it's not original but it is funny!

My heart just aches when I see stories like this. I can’t begin to imagine what this poor child’s life has been like.

Glad that the crack mom got busted and kid did not get suspended.
If the kid had a peanut butter sandwich, he could of got expelled.

At least the kid didn't also get suspended because of the school's zero tolerance policy being applied by mindless bureaucrats.

Crack is not a controlled substance;it is an illicit substance.Vicodin is an example of a controlled substance. The media can’t even get it right.
