COUNCIL BLUFFS, IowaGov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) blitzed through Iowa Friday with the swagger of a rock star, elevating his high-octane campaign with a series of stage-managed campaign events.
As the only sitting governor pursuing the GOP nomination for president, Perrys Texas-sized entourage and personality project an aura of authority that other candidates envy. His style, though, may risk alienating Iowans accustomed to lower key campaigning and more time for back-and-forth over issues.
For example, Perry traveled to campaign events throughout Iowa in a 22-seat Gulfstream IV jet owned by Wells Fargo Equipment Finance, Inc., a subsidiary of the banking conglomerate. The plane has ferried Perry since at least Sept. 12, when it left Austin, Texas for Tampa., Fla., where Perry participated in the CNN-Tea Party Express debate. Perrys use of corporate jets, a perk most other candidates lack, allowed Perry to cram five public events into four days. But the propriety of jetting around the Hawkeye State for retail political events in a corporate jet could crimp Perrys populist touch among fickle, frugal Iowans

But it is very UNscriptural to assume that everyone who happens to belong to the Democratic party holds to those unscriptural beliefs on abortion, gay marriage, etc. People join political parties for a number of different reasons. Many may be very socially conservative Christians, but are very liberal on fiscal issues. I still would disagree with them, but somebody believing in the welfare state does not mean they are not a Christian. Some would argue they believe in it BECAUSE of their faith.
The point is that your blanket statement is offensive, and IMO opinion, not scripturally sound. I also find YOU offensive.
Last word...when a person votes Democrat they are in affect saying that they support abortion, the removal of Christ from the classroom/public square etc..
That is fact that is undeniable...case closed
People like you are why Sarah has no chance - once they see some of the nuts and fanatics that support her, people will run screaming away from her. (Note: I’m not saying everyone who supports Sarah is a nut - but we seem to have more than our fair share on this forum.)
What differences did Governor Perry's administration believe existed between the business model that Countrywide Financial was operating with, and that which caused Penny Pritkzers Sub-prime Chicago Family-owned bank to FAIL?
Each applicant to the fund undergoes a thorough 11-step due diligence process. Corporate activity, financial standing, tax status, legal issues, credit ratings, and estimated economic impacts, as well as the business climates of competition locations are assessed for each project and taken into consideration for all award decisions.
Award dollar amounts are determined using a standardized analytical model applied uniformly to each TEF applicant. This model assures that the State of Texas will see a full return on its investment within the period of a project contract, due to the resulting increase in estimated sales tax revenues. Variations in award amounts are influenced by the number of jobs to be created, the expected timeframe for hiring, and the average wages to be paid.
Lastly, the Governor, Lt. Governor, and Speaker of the Texas House must unanimously agree in favor of a project in order for an award to be granted.

" ...we are unveiling its crowning jewel. I am proud to announce that the state of Texas is investing $20 million from the Texas Enterprise Fund to help Countrywide Financial""You can consider the Countrywide expansion to be Exhibit A as to why we need to continue to invest state dollars in the Texas Enterprise Fund.
Angelo Mozilo, thank you"--Governor Ricardo Perry
And you haven't done anything to prove that it wasn't done. All you have done is make unsubstantiated innuendo, just like a liberal Dem. If you have proof that due diligence was not done, post it. Otherwise, STFU - I'm bored with you.
>>And you haven’t done anything to prove that it wasn’t done
How did Countrywide FAIL, genius? Did the robo-signers misplace that historical fact in your tiny little help-desk brain?
STFU? LOL.
Was today a public school holiday? You home sick? Or just posting at work... on the tax-payer’s dime?
That how your “enterprise” runs?
Look, unless this is no longer America, if you want to make a charge, it is up to you to prove it - it is not up to other to disprove it. By the way, that grant to Countrywide resulted in almost 4000 jobs, and the state of Texas got $8 million back from Countrywide/BofA for the jobs that weren’t created - so that was not a case of a politician rewarding his friends/contributors - it was an investment that gave positive returns to the people and state of Texas. Sounds like they did a pretty good job of due diligence...
If I had to guess, it's a psychological ailment which defies logic. A phenomena the Perry campaign has figured out. Where folks will support him in spite of his record, as well as his in your face cronyism.
I figure the Perry managers learned it from the likes of Jimmy Swygert and Jim Bakker. It's a fact, many Americans are suckers. In this case, they are yet again proving Swygert and Bakker right. Many Americans are suckers.
Simply show them some flash, swagger, and authoritative presence, then set back to watch them jump on board like flies on an outdoor picnic.
[...it was an investment that gave positive returns to the people and state of Texas.]
Righhht. Lets just forget about the multi-trillion dollar Liar Loan a$$paper sandwich your Texican RINO good ole boys and their God-father Ambassadors left floating in the global economic pond.
Well just forget about that little energy shortage the smartest guys in the room at Enron cooked up for Californistan back in 2001 too...

...before it FAILed and a few of their systems folks headed off to Empower(tm) Ameriquest and giggle gawsh, I sure hope THAT doesnt happen again HERE.
After all everybody cheats and as long as its good for Texas, and YOU got an "Enterprise" teat in your mouth, screw everybody else. Right Tex? Yee hah.
[Countrywide resulted in almost 4000 jobs]
Uhuh. How many of them were robo-signers?
Little facts like those seem to be missing from your Texican past-O-matic. Maybe you should call the help-desk and get a memory upgrade... assuming there's somebody actually WORKING in your department between 8 and 5.
I'm sure glad I don't have kids in the school district, err "Enterprise", you collect a paycheck from.
"...who, being themselves but fallible and uninspired men, have assumed dominion over the faith of others, setting up their own opinions and modes of thinking as the only true and infallible, and as such endeavoring to impose them on others, hath established and maintained false religions over the greatest part of the world, and through all time..."--The Virginia Act For Establishing Religious Freedom

Meet the New Boss, same as the Old Ba'al--The Who?
And you need to get to a good Bible study. Next you will be saying that Jesus is not the only way to God.
!
????
What does the fact than Countrywide and Enron turned out to be crooks have to do with Perry or Texas? Are you now making the charge that somehow all Texans are crooks? We were discussing the specific loan that Texas made to Countrywide. My point is that Texas got what it contracted for - almost 4000 new jobs for Texans. It also recovered 42% of the original loan when the number of jobs created fell short of the number promised.
