COUNCIL BLUFFS, IowaGov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) blitzed through Iowa Friday with the swagger of a rock star, elevating his high-octane campaign with a series of stage-managed campaign events.
As the only sitting governor pursuing the GOP nomination for president, Perrys Texas-sized entourage and personality project an aura of authority that other candidates envy. His style, though, may risk alienating Iowans accustomed to lower key campaigning and more time for back-and-forth over issues.
For example, Perry traveled to campaign events throughout Iowa in a 22-seat Gulfstream IV jet owned by Wells Fargo Equipment Finance, Inc., a subsidiary of the banking conglomerate. The plane has ferried Perry since at least Sept. 12, when it left Austin, Texas for Tampa., Fla., where Perry participated in the CNN-Tea Party Express debate. Perrys use of corporate jets, a perk most other candidates lack, allowed Perry to cram five public events into four days. But the propriety of jetting around the Hawkeye State for retail political events in a corporate jet could crimp Perrys populist touch among fickle, frugal Iowans

Everybody I know, knows that the GOP platform is still pro life and that the Democrat platform is not.
The arguments have been made, a vote for a Democrat is a vote for abortion gay marriage and all the trimmings. I do not know anybody that does not know that.
I know of no liberal talk show host on MSNBC and CNN and Fox that is unaware of this.
Who does not know this?
I tend to agree with you. Now, what do we do? Who do we vote for? Romney or Perry?
You should perhaps read the 1988 Dem platform, just for fun. It’s pretty long, but interesting. No mention of gay marriage however, and 1 sentence on “reproductive choice”.
Guess where this paragraph comes from?
“WE BELIEVE in a stronger America ready to make the tough choices of leadership in an ever-dangerous world; militarily stronger in our overall defense and anti-terrorist capabilities and in the cohesion of our military alliances; economically stronger at home and in the global marketplace; intellectually stronger in the advances of our schools, science and technology; and spiritually stronger in the principles we exemplify to the world.”
Why are you wasting your time on a nutcase who believes you can’t be a Christian unless you are a Republican?
Gov Sarah Palin for sure.
Now I believe perhaps you are not for her, but I thank you for at least being consistent.
I just finished a discussion with 2 posters here at FR that tried to say with a straight face that a vote for a Democrat was not a vote for anti Christian values.
You can NOT be a Christian and support infanticide, gay marriage and the removal of Christ from the public square... This is not opinion but fact.
When a person votes for a candidate that openly holds these opinions, and for a party that holds these views, absolutely the Spirit of Christ is simply not in that person. I hate to break it to you.
You are honestly saying that in 1988 abortion was not an issue? Have you not heard of Roe vs Wade?
Did you happen to miss the time that prayer and the Bible was removed from the classroom?
You are trying to make the argument that people did not and still do not know that the Democrat party supports all these anti Christian values??
Come on, you do not really believe what you are saying? Or do you?
I challenge you to post a vanity thread with that discussion title (your own thoughts) and see how many people agree with you.
You said it “reproductive choice” that is from the pit of hell and means abortion
Romans 2:1 "Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things."
Romans 14:4 "Who are you to judge anothers servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand."
Matt. 7:1-3 " 1 Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brothers eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?"
I have also been totally dismayed at how the Palin followers treat those who have an opposing point of view.
I do agree that a Christian cannot vote for a Democrat.
A better answer would be that if anyone understands what the Democrat party truly represents, they cannot in good conscience vote for a Democrat. I know a very Godly man who was a life-long Democrat and he is a comitted Christian but I think he has also had his eyes opened and probably will no longer ever vote for another Democrat.
[Oh, and the money that was invested in Countrywide was done so in 2004, well BEFORE anyone knew what they were doing.]
Was that before or after Penny Pritzker’s Chicago Family-owned bank went bankrupt from doing Sub-prime?
Loman, it’s too much to ask a Governor who flunked “animal science” to do the due diligence required before handing out tax dollars.
God only knows what he’ll do with federal tax dollars.
So you are saying a Christian should support infanticide and support spitting on the Word of God?
That`s sounds like what you are saying?
To offer ones opinion is judging you believe?
You should know better then to argue that Christians support killing unborn children!
In order to defend the unborn child, or in order to defend the Lord Jesus Christ from people/democrats/moderate Republicans that want to ban His Name from the public square/classroom, a argument has to be made.
It`s not judging to make a argument. You are coming across like a liberal.
You want to throw around some Scripture, here is some that say what The Lord feels about abortion
Psalm 139:13-16 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.
Isaiah 44:2 This is what the Lord says he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you...
Isaiah 44:24 This is what the Lord says your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: “I am the Lord, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself...”
I guess you know what Jesus said if a person harms one of these little ones!
Yer right, of course. I found it interesting that the 1988 Democrat platform is light on abortion, heavy on National Security. He apparently is not sharing my fascination with the arcane.
Wow! You sure like to make straw man arguments and ad hominem attacks, don't you? Of course, I never made that argument. Either you are too stupid to realize that or so dishonest that you don't care about making false accusations.
In order to defend the unborn child, or in order to defend the Lord Jesus Christ from people/democrats/moderate Republicans that want to ban His Name from the public square/classroom, a argument has to be made.
So you think you have the divine wisdom to declare that over half of the county is going to hell simply because of their political party registration, without knowing anything about their personal beliefs on abortion, gay marriage, etc. Dear Lord, you are arrogant, self-righteous and Pharisaical!
To offer ones opinion is judging you believe?
If you are going to make yourself the sole judge of the validity of another person's Christianity, then yes, I think that crosses a line from opinion to judging.
It`s not judging to make a argument. You are coming across like a liberal.
And you are coming across like a deranged cultist - certainly not like a Christian. God forbid that I should ever find myself in your "church".
Well, since Penny Pritzker was not involved with Countrywide, you question is a non-sequiter.
Well what differences did the Texican Cheerleader’s administration believe existed between the business model that Countrywide was operating with, and that which caused Penny Pritkzer’s Sub-prime Chicago Family-owned bank to FAIL?
How’s Ameriquest Field playing these days?
So it is your contention that the governor of Texas should have seen something that no one in the FDIC, the SEC, or any other Federal regulatory agency (that are specifically tasked with monitoring such things) saw until years later? Don't you think that is kind of a high bar to set for anyone? I know you are not interested in truth or fairness - you are just hoping to find something to hammer Perry with, whether it has any basis in reality.
The simple fact of the matter is this...when you accuse someone of judging, you are judging also. You are saying you know what is in their heart, so you really need to take your own advice.
We are allowed to point out when someone/anybody is doing harm to a child or perverting the Gospel. Perverting the Gospel includes arguing that abortion etc is OK with the Lord.
Perverting includes saying it`s ok with The Lord that the Bible/Word of God is removed from classroom and public square.
So it is NOT judging to point out that the Democrat Party supports all this perversion, and it is very Scriptural to say that folks that hold these perverted values do Not have the Spirit of Christ within them.
Your version of what judging means, would nullify anybody from reading Scripture to prove a point. You would say...hey they are judging.
