Go right ahead! I snagged it myself! :)
Well said. I don't understand the hostility of the anti-Palin Freepers. If she's not running, we'll be made aware of it within a few more weeks and we'll have to find another candidate to support. If she does run and is so unelectable as they claim, then she'll be knocked out of the race early and we'll have to find another candidate to support. So what are they so angry about? Aren't the primaries all about giving all the candidates a decent shot to make their case?
Poster 1:
my wife and i are palin supporters.
Humblegunner
Have either of you heard of capitaliztion?
George (me):
Humblegunner, have you heard of Spelling 101 ?
capitaliztion ?
I mean, if you’re going to call them out ... get it right.
-George
Using your logic, looks like the only one we can vote for is Romney — since he’s the only one who beat Obama in the same poll

“Aren’t the primaries all about giving all the candidates a decent shot to make their case?”
Emphasis on CANDIDATES — those who declared and ARE “making their case”. Palin is not doing that.
And she could string you along for months. If she doesn’t say yes or no by end of September, will you wake up and realize she is not running, or just extend her “deadline” to October, November, December....November 2012?
Your detachment from reality is NOT harmless. The few percent of the people who are “waiting for Palin” may be what will help Romney beat Perry and then be beaten by Obama.
That’s how McCain got the nomination in 2008. And some never learn. Palin may be much better looking than Fred, but she is playing the same game.
Pssst...Perry has a job....
Pssst...Perry has a job....
When asked if she is running, she had given a mid-september deadline for deciding. which means, it left an open question. if she wasnt running, why not say so? if she is running, there can be reason to not disclose.
But how can that be? The first votes in the primary season aren't until February? So how exactly does the "waiting for Palin" crowd help Romney beat Perry when nobody can vote for either candidate for nearly four more months? By which time, we'll know for sure whether Palin is in or out.
Using your logic, looks like the only one we can vote for is Romney since hes the only one who beat Obama in the same poll
Unbelievable.
Where did I ever say that I would pick a candidate based on MSM polling?
The logic you are referring to is the other poster's logic and not mine. Go tell him/her that his/her logic in post #34 suggests that we should vote for Romney.
Pointing that logic out was my point.
Psst. Perry needs to either run for president full time of perform his functions as governor full time.
Pssst....our legislature isn't in session now and won't be again until 2013. Perry can manage both.
So then the governor of Texas performs no full time function while the legislature is in session. ...Pssst back to you.
Correction: So then the governor of Texas performs no full time function while the legislature is NOT in session. ...Pssst back to you.
You each have a highly principled opinion, but please consider that there is no need to wait for a top surgeon before you stop the bleeding. Our country deserves some first aid from the current trauma.
Nonsense. This country is hemorrhaging rights, and she is quickly becoming unable to keep her sovereignty. First aid my a$$. These sonsab*tches on BOTH sides of the aisle are selling us down the river. Until you realize that the two parties are just two legs of the same order, you will continue to be part of the problem.
If you aren't voting for a dyed-in-the-wool, rock-ribbed Conservative, you are simply whistling past the graveyard. Some plastic-banana, feel-good win ain't gonna change a damn thing.
We cannot allow Obama another term. No matter what. [...]
If our candidate is not a Reagan Conservative, there is no substantial difference between him and what you would replace him with; so your position does not hold water. Right now, the closest thing up there to a Reagan Conservative is Perry - and he is a long way off of the mark (Far enough that I will not vote for him).
[...] Are you willing to put the country at risk to stand by your principles?
It is my principled opinion that it cannot be fixed without a total reboot - So I would rather do that now than later anyway, while we still have the commitment to liberty that we have left. Another generation given to the nanny state, and there won't be enough gumption left to save it, nor will there be anything left to save...
And I will always risk ANYTHING to stand upon principle - Principles are 'first things'. They are always paramount, else they are not principles. You do right because it is the right thing to do. Remember the will of our fathers. Each time you compromise those founding principles, you are not standing in the breach, but making one instead.
We all would love to have a true conservative as president. But we have to fight the enemy first!
That is HOW you fight the enemy! The liberals NEVER compromise. Where the hell did you get the idea that there is victory in compromise on our side? It is ABSURD. If you think there is ANY substantial gain in a mere Republican, we are already lost!
I believe all of the candidates are currently employed.
It is not unusual for presidential candidates to have a job while they are campaigning.
I believe all of the candidates are currently employed.
I've raised the same concerns about Bachmann. For example, she has missed a large number of votes.
It is not unusual for presidential candidates to have a job while they are campaigning.
I fully understand it's not unusual. Doesn't make it right.
Poor, poor baby, Gov. Palin not doing what you think she should be doing? Or maybe you are really just a Ron Paul supporter.
“Thoughtful comments on your part but I disagree that there is total silence from Palin. She gave two speeches over Labor Day weekend in both Iowa and New Hampshire and those were political speeches that you would only expect a candidate to give.”
Which made it all the more odd that she didn’t declare, didn’t give any indication of her preparation for same, and just left it hanging. It was the perfect time, place and venue to declare -and she didn’t. Sometimes, silence tells you all you need to know, and you got pick up on the obvious. She spoke as a Tea Party event keynoter, not a candidate.
“She posts articles on a regular basis on subjects that you would expect a candidate to expound on. “
Rush Limbaugh expounds on these every day too, but he’ll never be a candidate. As does Huckabee, Glenn Beck, etc. Palin’s actions are the actions of a celebrity-pundit-activist-public-speaker. She’s not done the candidate stuff, like line up fundraising support and consultants, etc. Only her fans are blind to these tipoffs to her non-candidacy. (they are also tipoffs that if she did run, it wouldnt go smoothly.)
Your speculative thousands of words are not necessary. She is not a candidate for President in 2012, and if she were, she’d have let us in on her thinking by now.
Did I ping you? Must have hit a nerve. Guilty dog barks first. Brown nose, brown truck, brown out.
