A P-51 crashed into a vip area at the reno air races about 25. Initial reports indicate many deaths.

My cousin was sitting in the grand strand at Reno. He just called me. The P-51 “Galloping Ghost” lost control coming around the last corner prior to the straights down the Grand Strand. He impacted into the VIP/handicapped seating area. My cousin said there may be “hundreds” dead....

I sure hope I’m wrong about the number of deaths. Jimmy Leeward of Florida was flying the P-51. He started the Leeward Air Ranch in Fl I believe.

Nothing on the news. Nobody preempts BOR and CNN is reporting on the heavy fighting in the war in Libya that ended a few weeks back.

KTVN News:
The plane DID NOT hit the stands, it hit nearby tables instead.
As a result, airport personnel and military evacuated thousands of spectators. Several emergency vehicles are currently headed to the scene.
There's no official word yet on any injuries.
