Republican presidential hopeful Jon Huntsman will announce the endorsement of former U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Gov. Tom Ridge Friday in an event at St. Anselm College in Goffstown.

Ridge, a former governor of Pennsylvania, plans to attend a press conference with Huntsman at the college’s New Hampshire Institute for Politics.

In a statement by the Huntsman campaign, Ridge said Thursday that Huntsman is “a serious, insightful leader.”

Huntsman, 51, a former Utah governor and ambassador to China, said he’ll be counting on Ridge for help and counsel.

Wasn’t Ridge the one that first said the anthrx attacks were caused by someone going fishing, and “catching” it there?

I might be wrong- it was more likely Ashcroft.

His policies aren’t a lot different than Perry’s.

“I intend to vote the same convictions,” Perry said “The only difference is there will be an R beside my name.”
~RINO Mitt Perry

By 'same' he meant the same as when he was a registered democRAT as when he joined Al Gore in opposing Reagan.

I bet a lot of people don't know about that little tidbit.

There’s no Jeb Bush Jr...Jeb’s son is George P (Pratt) Bush. But you’re right it was the son who endorsed Huntsman.

Reagan was a Democrat.

John Connally was a Democrat.

Phil Gramm was a Democrat.

Still-Congressman Ralph Hall also from Texas was a Democrat.

Zell Miller is still a Democrat who supports Republicans now.

Ed Koch is a Democrat who supported the Republican who won Weiner’s district in NY.

You’re wrong in that a lot of people do know about this and have learned the truth behind it, that where Perry came from there weren’t enough Republicans to even hold a primary, so if you ran from there you were a Democrat or nothing.

People have learned that this was what it used to be like all over TX back in the day.

Because their brains are still set on the “learn” position, a lot of people know and long ago put that one to bed.

[Gen. Burkhalter] Relax, Major, he iss here to date my sister, Gertrude.

Getting Ridge into this game is cool, because now we have someone to play the part of Col. Klink.

They do but the Perry apologists just don't care as you can see by the response to your post.

Of note and import is his quote that he plans to vote the same as when he was a dim. It's well-known that he joined Al Gore in trying to 'undo' all the Reagan had done. So, by Perry's own words he planned to continue that ideology. He switched parties out of political expediency but analysis of his record proves that he is still a liberal.

The Huntsman surge begins!

I'm holding out for the oh so sought after Shirley MacLaine endorsement before I am completely convinced of Huntsman's chances.

I never liked either one of these RINOs!

Once he was Homeland Security, you should have heard people hoping he would run for President. It was funny. I knew he would not be good for President as he was my Governor for 6 years.

The difference being a so called Blue Dog Democrat is a conservative Democrat.
Ronald Reagan was never a flaming Lib.
While a RINO is a Liberal, sometimes a flaming lib, claiming to be a Republican.
They vote with the libs on key issues and therefore can not be counted on when it really matters.

BTW I would vote for a solid Blue Dog Democrat over a RINO.

Actually, he joined Al Gore in opposing Michael Dukakis, Jesse Jackson, and little Dick Gephardt.

You have no right to complain when Romney is the nominee.
