Washington - Rep. Louie Gohmert (TX-01) released the following statement today after introducing the American Jobs Act of 2011 which will create jobs by taking the corporate tax rate to zero.
We have heard a lot of rhetoric about job creation from President Obama over the last several days. After waiting to see what the President would actually put into legislative language, and then waiting to see if anybody would actually introduce the Presidents bill in the House, today I took the initiative and introduced the 'American Jobs Act of 2011.' It is a very simple bill, which will eliminate the corporate tax which serves as a tariff that our American companies pay on goods they produce here in America.
This bill will actually create jobs in America. Right now, American manufacturing jobs are shipped overseas. What is really insidious about this tax is that corporate taxes are paid by the consumer built in to the cost of the good or service. Corporate taxes are paid for by people in the form of lower wages to American workers and less money paid out in dividends in everything from 401K retirement accounts and to those who would risk their capital in business ventures. This type of capital investment is where jobs come from.
Unlike President Obamas bill, which clocks in at 155 pages, the 'American Jobs Act' is only two pages. The American people want to see jobs and economic growth and this bill guarantees that outcome. America would instantly become a safe haven for businesses resulting in an explosion in revenue increases. If we really want to create jobs and grow the economy, we must pass The American Jobs Act now.

Congressman Louie Gohmert is the Vice Chair of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security. Prior to being elected to serve in Congress, Louie was elected to three terms as District Judge in Smith County, Texas. He also served as Chief Justice of Texas'12th Court of Appeals.
Boehner should get up and say “Heeding President Obama’s call for urgency in passing a jobs bill, and inasmuch as this is the only jobs bill placed for our consideration, we hereby take up the matter of the American Jobs Act of 2011.” The GOP passes it and sends it to the Senate. Then, when Obama tries to claim Republican Obstruction, the republicans can shrug and say, “we passed the only jobs bill submitted to us, it was the Democrats who were standing in the way”.
Where can I contribute to Gohmert’s reelection?
There isn't any reason why the Democrats can't give Obama's bill the same title. They will have different numbers to differentiate the two.
Just emailed my congressman urging him to Cosponsor and support THIS bill!
I wanted to write and thank him, but it won’t accept my zip code as he’s not my congressman, unfortunately.
Wow.....at only two pages long, they might actually read it too !
Fabulous.
Mine too. Louie kicks butt with both feet!
it ain’t like he sneaked this in under the radar, yesterday he was saying on Hannity or Rush, that nobama nor his flunkies had bothered to file the damn Bill AND they still didn’t even after the warning.
Dems are really turning out to be the Gang that can’t shoot straight. Must be hard to do dirty deeds while hunkered down hiding.
Man this guy has some nerve! I think that all corporations should have to pay at the same effective rate as a big guy like General Electric! Er, wait a minute . . . .
Proud to say that he is my representative. He is the real deal.
He is in a very safe district so you can keep your powder dry.
I think there is a route around the “non-District” Zipcode.
I am about to send him a note and will pass along FReepers smiles.
Hey Obama ... eat your own damn peas.
PING!
