I grew up in Connecticut (The street I lived on had only 30 homes. The neighbors cared for their homes. Biggirl - I believe - lives in the same town.) Here, I can’t plant a tree without the HOA giving me permission. I now moved to a Condo in Downtown Tampa.

Ahhhh...Tampa....I lived in Lakeland for a couple of years when I was a child. I miss Florida so. (And I ALWAYS disembark from Tampa when I cruise.) But yes, home owner’s associations are too strigent and totalitarian for their purpose.

Tampa is a nice city, but I'm thinking of moving back to CT (or Maine or Vermont). I do miss the seasons there. (And besides I can drive the Dems crazy there, here the Dems (except in the 'minority parts' - or the dumb parts - of FL) are not challenging enough.

Yes, my understanding is that only the Senate had to vote on it, there’s a clause in that legislation that allows for only having the House “or” Senate vote on increases, and they don’t need the other body to vote at all.
