Joe McGinnis is and was a creepy little schmuck who built his (now almost non-existent) career on a book called
The Selling of the President , a 1968 book on Nixon. Like the Woodward/Bernstein book , immediate celebrity came to all concerned, and only Bob Woodward has managed to make a substantial career out of his journalism/reportage, regardless of what anyone may think of it.
