During the ceremonies today at Ground Zero on the 10 year anniversary of the attacks, the crowd was noticeably silent when Obama walked to the microphone. But the reaction was entirely different for Bush.

FYI: This video was taken from the ABC broadcast. They had trouble with their sound this morning. It was even more obvious on FOX News Channel.

The conclusion reached from that video is a stretch.

Well the headline threw me off, I thought President Bush was DOING the cheering at Ground Zero. To self: “That’s an odd way for President Bush to act.” NOW I understand.

Not surprised at all about the reaction of crowd.

Thank God Americans still know a true hero when they see one. There is HOPE.

I watched it live. It took a moment for people to realize it was Bush’s turn, then there was wild cheering. As soon as he finished, there was more wild cheering. 0bama did not receive any cheering at all.

The video does not prove the title’s point.

Ridiculous. Obama spoke after a moment of silence and there were only a few hollers after Bush started speaking. This is a stretch.

I agree. There was silence for obama, some very restrained clapping and cheers for GW Bush. Hardly CHEERING, as the headline is implying.

Hard to say as well. The one glaring thing to notice is not the clapping...it was the muted sound of the broadcast, probably anticipating no applause for president Putt.

My wife watched it live. I was not awake yet. She told me it was very outstanding. The video does not do it justice. My wife said it was extremely evident.

I watched both the Obama remarks and the Bush remarks!!! The opening remarks by Obama were greeted with dead silence. After Obama completed his remarks, the dead silence continued as he left the podium. When the opening remarks from Bush began there was moderate applause greeting him. When Bush completed his remarks, he was greeted and saluted with both loud cheers, whistles and applause. Obama and his wife, MIchelle are not having a good day!!! Looks like they happier, eating shrimp and lobster at the Hamptons on the taxpayer dime then mixing with American heroes!!! In PA they were both laughing, shaking hands, campaign style, having a great time. No somber moments for Barack & Michelle!!! Dems, you better get with it. These two folks are radioactive to say the least. When Obama did not show up yesterday in Pennsylvania, I knew he and his wife could care less about the 9/11 tragedy and our USA brave souls and first responders. What “dirt bags” these un-American poor excuses for human beings these people are!!!

I agree with you, we both watched it here and it’s definitely a stretch.

Go to the FOX News website and watch both vids, O'Bungwad, then Bush.

O'Butthole gets stony, absolute silence as he apporoaches the podium, speaks, and departs the podium. Total silence.

There is silence as Bush approaches, too, but then as he speaks, cheering and whistles are briefly heard, and then as he daparts, loud, enthusiastic applause erupts.

While the vid linked here truly does a poor job of substantiating the headlines, the headline quite accurately describes what actually happened. Barry and Moochelle must have been burning mad.

LOL!

I watched it live on the local NYC channel and made the following observations: After President Bush read the letter Lincoln wrote to the mother who lost five sons in the civil war, the crowd absolutely did cheer. After obama read the psalm (probably the first one he’s ever read in his life) no one even clapped. On the local channel coverage there were no interruptions with talking heads - only the reading of the names by the families. When one woman mentioned “Jesus Christ the savior”, the crowed cheered. Then there was the immigrant man with the Italian accent who spoke of his beloved daughter who died on 9/11 took his opportunity to say “we should never forget that radical Islamists did this” and thanked the military who gave their lives for freedeom and spoke of how much he loved America - the crowd cheered. When the boy who said he was in his mother’s belly when his dad died thanked his father for giving him life and wished he were here to share it with him, the crowd was moved. After watching for a while I went to church where we had a lovely service and reading of names from our community, our priest spoke angrily about the NY Times editorial which criticized Pope Benedict. At the end of the day, I feel hopeful that good will triumph over evil and that the people do get it.

The events at the Pentagon were nothing but a fricking photo-op for Obama and Michelle. It made me sick. Michelle had her gross arms showing AGAIN with a plunging back neckline. SO SO SO SO TACKY. She has absolutely no tact at all.

I heard that President Bush got a standing ovation yesterday in PA.

He is finally getting a smidgeon of the recognition he deserves. God bless him. I hope he gets LOTS more.
