The conclusion reached from that video is a stretch.
I watched it live. It took a moment for people to realize it was Bush’s turn, then there was wild cheering. As soon as he finished, there was more wild cheering. 0bama did not receive any cheering at all.
I agree. There was silence for obama, some very restrained clapping and cheers for GW Bush. Hardly CHEERING, as the headline is implying.
Hard to say as well. The one glaring thing to notice is not the clapping...it was the muted sound of the broadcast, probably anticipating no applause for president Putt.
O'Butthole gets stony, absolute silence as he apporoaches the podium, speaks, and departs the podium. Total silence.
There is silence as Bush approaches, too, but then as he speaks, cheering and whistles are briefly heard, and then as he daparts, loud, enthusiastic applause erupts.
While the vid linked here truly does a poor job of substantiating the headlines, the headline quite accurately describes what actually happened. Barry and Moochelle must have been burning mad.
LOL!
You're right.....
Obama took the microphone during the "moment of silence" and the "cheers" for Bush were just a few individuals in the crowd........
That pretty much describes the typical Gateway Pundit blog.
I didn’t see much of anything in that.
My wife watched it live. She told me shortly after that there was no applause for Obama but Bush received applause both before and after his speech. No, this video isn’t much, but I’ll go by what she told me.
