Sarah Palin said some amazing and terrific things the other day

I’m not trying o discredit Palin personally because I like her. I’m mainly talking about her favorables and unfavorables as in Poll numbers. I know you may not believe in them but I am positive that Satah does some polling of her own by her own pollsters.
As for Perry, of course he also has obstacles and is not perfect. But at this point, he seems to look good to a lot of voters.
That reply wasn’t even close to a rebuttal. Listen up...
Governor Palin’s views are in her books, her speeches, her articles, her recent interviews, and in her 20 year record as a public servant. ALL of it conflicts with what she had to say on the campaign trail as McCain’s running mate.
Same as any other VP candidate you’ve ever listened to on the stump. You may not like it, but that is how the game of presidential politics works.
Perhaps you’ve forgotten how GHW Bush called Reagan’s economic prescriptions “voodoo economics” when he ran against him in the primary. Now tell me how many times he expressed any public disagreement with Reagan’s economic policies after he was his running mate.
“I seem to have more respect for her than her supporters here on Free Republic.”
Uh huh, and I am the King of Siam.
Good luck bro. You’re way too obsessed. Congratulations, all you’re doing at best is proving she’s human. (*lethargic applause*)
You find me any other candidate that’s been vetted like this woman has—ever.
You find me another candidate that’s had 20000-plus emails investigated and not one thing found.
Then she was being dishonest in 2008.
If that is true, then I suddenly have no respect for her anymore. Thanks for clearing that up.
Same as any other VP candidate youve ever listened to on the stump. You may not like it, but that is how the game of presidential politics works.
And Sarah Palin is positioning herself as being the single candidate who is above all that political game crap.
A lot can change in 3 years, huh?
So, in your opine, what the heck is she doing?
The reasons should be obvious, but the short answer is that it benefits her to step in later, rather than sooner. It's deliberate, strategic planning on her part. She's not "waiting" for anything.
1. She can afford to step in later, where others cannot (due to 100% name recognition and broad, 'broken glass' support).
2. There is zero profit in her stepping in during this (still) early stage, while the field is engaged in something of a dirty demolition derby.
3. By stepping in later, she appears as new, fresh, and unblemished by the prior months' dueling.
4. She gives her opponents more time to suffer from their own self-inflicted wounds, or the wounds of others.
5. She can keep her face and her name in the news virtually for free, avoiding the expenditure of hers and her supporters time, energies, and financial resources.
I could go on, but those are a few of the reasons she's not in yet.
Well she is, isn't she?
A lot of people on this forum are afraid to admit it.
You find me another candidate thats had 20000-plus emails investigated and not one thing found.
I'm the one who has been arguing that she was being completely honest in 2008 when she was acting as a cheerleader for the TARP Bailout.
I'm not the one accusing her of being disingenuous about it. That seems to be the position of her most ardent supporters.
Suddenly? lol Yeah...suddenly..
So where is your outrage about your ultimate flip flopper Perry?
Right now???
Speaking at rallies, being a fox news contributor, selling books and positioning herself for a continued career as a professional political observer.
I'd like to see her run for Senate. Then she can run for president when she is ready, say 2020.
You're really wasting your time, and I'm wasting my time responding to you. Thanks. lol
There is NO WAY Palin could have “just not said anything in favor...” Couric is no idiot - she’d have sensed the opening and gone in for the kill.
That said, I believe it could go either way. Palin may have indeed supported TARP at the time. I’m not so sure she got, shall we say, “full disclosure”. I’m pretty sure a lot of people didn’t.
HA, ROTFLMAO.
Unlike you, I don't believe she was lying in 2008 just to go along with McCain.
I'm surprised that you would support someone you thought was so dishonest.
You are getting close to a consistent position. Maybe she supported it because, like most Americans, she didn't have a clue about what the hell the TARP Bailout was all about. But to believe that she was being a cheerleader for it while at that same time having some core principle objection to it is to accuse her of being dishonest.
Which version would you prefer to believe?
Eventually the apolitical (better term than “independents”) will have to hear what she has to say, and they will like it, if she keeps this up.
Marlowe, it’s pretty apparent that you’ve simply got stuck viewpoints about Sarah Palin. I’m not going to try to talk you out of them.
You’re unwilling to consider her exemplary 20 record of public service, or anything she’s said as an independent political entity, so there’s little left to talk about.
You’re going to continue to post the same talking points over and over again, and Palin supporters are just going to keep debunking them with the same things I’ve said to you tonight.
I’m done.
You’re the one that’s being dishonest, pretending to be a Palin supporter. lol.
How do you look in the mirror everyday knowing that you lie and troll?
