"Run, Sarah, run!" the Manchester crowd chanted, forcing Palin to pause her speech and say, "I appreciate your encouragement. I do." Will that encouragement be enough to bring Palin into the 2012 campaign as the bearer of the populist banner? The mere possibility is enough to give the "permanent political class" nightmares, and to inspire pleasant dreams for the people whose prayers her campaign would answer.

So I'm not a Palinbot. It is clear though that she is the only one who will take on the ruling class without fear.

I agree, I just wonder if she can overcome the negatives that have been branded into the minds of the general public by the MSM.

Teg...I don't really give a crap what you need. Perry is going to be your next President! I really really do want Sarah Palin to run though, her failing to run would ruin my chance at smug happiness and the ability to say, "teg_76, you were wrong!"

I thought about collecting the persons (real and fictional) that the anti-Palin crowd on here compared her to, but I decided not to once I realized pretty much all the comparisons were really, really stupid.

Seriously though, doesn’t it say something about the guy that he was supporting the democrat candidate as late as 1988? At that point there were clear differences between the parties. His only argument for doing this at that time would be ambition, not what’s good for the country. We’ve had enough of those types.

Freepers really need to stop name calling like Palinistas or Perrybots. We all need to debate issues, some of which we have mild disagreement and when the time comes polarize around the candidate that will remove the socialist currently occupying the peoples house.

You're right of course but I gave up on the hopes of that kind of civility ending here on FR during George W. Bush's second term when I started seeing the term "Bushbot" thrown around.

She is of the people

The honest, capable housewife from Wasilla is of the people. She is the best hope of overcoming politics as usual -- e.g. Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Rick Perry -- and fixing our government.

Running for president is a huge decision. It's up to her when she wants to make that decision. It doesn't mean she is leading us on. That is just a ludicrous assertion -- there is absolutely no benefit for her to purposely play games and lead people on. She is waiting and watching and deliberating because she honestly hasn't made up her mind.

Campaigns of a year and a half or longer are not good for the country. Ronald Reagan didn't declare until November 13th. There is no reason for her to have an ultra-long campaign.

The Establishment Republicans are beginning to fear Sarah Palin. They fear her talk against the politcal establishment and ruling class in Washington D.C. They can now see clearly that she will not play their games. The talking heads from the Republican Establishment will go after her more and more.

Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham are truly Establishment Republicans, as we saw recently in the debt ceiling stand-off where they came out early for the ridiculous Mitch McConnell plan to concede everything to Obama just so they could point fingers at him during the election. Politics as usual.

She is of the people, by the people, for the people and with the people.

Perry will not “cause havoc” if he gets his “foot in the door”. He may well do some good things, but his kowtowing to Hispannics and Muslim groups are evidence that America’s decline will continue under him. Bob

I believe that none of the other declared candidates will end up as Sarah’s VP choice. I think it will be an outsider.

Sarah’s voice is indeed unmelodious. I suppose it irrelevant to point out that Lincoln’ s voice was high-pitched and nasal. But as a detail, it is a voice that really carries. You could turn the microphone off and her voice would carry for a long way outdoors. And it does not weary the candidate. After the Lincoln-Douglas debates, Douglas voice was quite hoarse. His big baritone was well suited for the Senate, but not so much on the hustlings. Lincoln seemed unbothered.

More trivia.

Years ago, when Bob Taft wsas running against Eisenhower for the nomination, someone commented to a friend how unpleasant his voice was. The friend replied that his grandfather who was still alive in 1940, had as a boy heard Lincoln speak and that that Taft sounded like the President only with a slightly higher voice.

Peel back the layers of most Perry supporters and what you eventually find is either a Pseudo-Conservative(Partial Conservative), a moderate masquerading as a conservative, or a conservative who has bought into the crappy failed idea that only a moderate or moderate-conservative can win.
