Their other tactic is to claim Perry is too extreme, to turn independents against him, in case they are not successful in knocking him out in the primary.
Perry ping
How about this, from the op-ed:
So expect lots of name calling. That may not work either. The “Texas cowboy” frightens Eastern liberals, but other Americans may find Gov. Perry’s decisiveness a refreshing change from the wuss in the White House who’s been described — cruelly but accurately — by New Hampshire’s Manchester Union Leader as “the Last Responder.”

perry’s not liberterian/conservative enough (gardasil episode,border ) however he’s better then romney...
Isn’t Mark McKinnon a lefty?
That is the whole problem with the GOP, they stand up for people like Scozzafava while slamming conservatives like Palin.
Let’s see if Perry can stand up to th MSM “Palin” treatment, and see if he survives.
Boohoo!!!!
This is a disgrace and an embarrassment to hear these people call them selves Conservatives. They aid the enemy and contribute to our own defeat. Simply because they think they have a candidate who will rise above their narrow view of the real world. And sadly, their candidate will most likely not join the race and has even make that subliminally clear. Yet they refuse to believe it and completely ignore it.
I live about 30 miles south of Pittsburgh, so this is one of the “local” papers. Other than a good sports page, Jack Kelly’s weekly column is the best part.
He’s a former US Marine, BTW!
How’s his muslim buddy, Aga Khan doing? How did that plan to introduce islam into the public schools in Texas go? Are they still teaching the islamic curriculum Perry intro’d in Texas?
Conservative hell, the man voted for algore, the only reason he is a republican is because he could no longer win as a democrap. Perry is the Texas Arlin Specter.
Any conservative is going to get blasted no matter who is in the lead, Palin, Bachmann, Perry, Paul, etc. Only Romney seems to be the darling of the MSM.
From the fake Tea Partys such as the one
which attacked Gov. Palin from Texas
created by RINO Romney and Hudack (and Perry?)
to the FAKE polls in Texas "informing" Gov Palin not to run
created by PerryBOTs (and Romney?)
to the rumor-fomenting Sullivans in S.C.both in bed
with RINO Romney and RINO Perry
to the anti-Gov Palin rumors from PerryBOT Ken Crow in Iowa Lying that
Gov Palin would not Run for President
(Perry and Romney?)
it is clear conservatives and America are in peril
from the backstabbing, politically crossdressing
RINOs Perry and Romney
who indeed appear to be two Rovian puppets
reeking of misogyny and dirty tricks.
Didn’t read the article....did he name the newspaper?
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.
You picked up on too? Lol
Perry is the only candidate I can remember who gets simultaneously attacked for being too far right and too far left
Mainstream media and Democrats and some on the fringe right fear the Texas governor, so they smear him
“It’s almost as if Perry’s political persona was constructed by bundling together all the fears and phantoms in the left-wing anxiety closet.”
They don’t say that about Romney.
“( - - - “We plan to declare war on Rick Perry and do all in our power to crush him.” - - - )”
Anyone that upsets the L.I.E. Media is a friend of mine.
This is a perfect skewer, and dead on-target. We should hear it more often in the public arena.
James Fallows tried, judged, and hanged "credentialism" aned its claims and theories in a landmark essay in a middlebrow magazine (can't remember for sure whether it was The New Republic or The Atlantic Monthly, think it was the latter) some 20 years ago, but apparently nobody listened -- because they were already fully invested in the credentialist career trajectory. Peggy Noonan and David Brooks are two examples he cites; David Gergen was the current example back then, working in the White House but already, no doubt, planning a career among the commentariat as his next phase, following in the footsteps of Richard Goodwin and Jody Powell.
