North Carolina declared a state of emergency Thursday, opening access to federal assets to help government agencies respond to the disaster.

To help with a potentially disastrous aftermath, the government has stationed mountains of supplies, including water and generators, at Fort Bragg, one of the country's largest military installations. In North Carolina, an emergency declaration also means concealed weapons carry permits are invalid for the duration – another grim reminder of the potential of a storm to cause civil unrest.

Katrina is a poor benchmark for the way people react to disaster.

Katrina and New Orleans is a great benchmark to see how Obama voters react to a disaster. They will come to YOUR house and find out if YOU have something THEY need, or want.

The STATE wants to make sure that YOU don't hurt any Obama voter. They don't give a rip about what the Obama voters do to YOU.

A lot of people certainly ACT as though they believe it! Shortly after South Carolina passed the “shall issue” ruling and long before I got a permit I walked into my bank one day laughing my ass off. People were looking at me so I stopped and told them all that I was laughing at the sign on the door saying that concealed weapons are not allowed in the bank. They didn’t seem to see the humor but I still think the idea is hilarious. What kind of fool believes that sign is going to have any effect on the very people it is supposedly intended for? You cannot underestimate the intelligence of the average American.
