Approximately 65 million people are likely to be directly impacted by Hurricane Irene as the storm takes aim at the densely populated Eastern Seaboard. Evacuations are underway for high flood risk areas.
Mass transit cancellations, schedule changes and road/bridge closures are occurring throughout the storm warning areas. Please check with local news and Emergency Management Operations to determine the recommendations for your immediate area.

“Hogwash and lies.” That’s a super awesome level of potent intellectual rebuttal for sure.

Per FNC — there IS a risk of a dam in St. Mary’s County
in MD failing. Water is currently overflowing. Govt Officials are involved, analyzing the situation and the threats to the residents who’d be impacted.

I thought the guy said the dam didn’t look like it would fail,, it was just concern about water overflowing it.

We do too, but it didn’t get as much media coverage as Nashville.
Yes I know. You were here and saw it. It got zero coverage outside this area.

She's going to sleep in the basement right now.Ed went to bed. They just said the so called eye of the storm will pass over Ocean City N.J again.Does wave heights and 8 foot storm surge combine in a storm surge. That would mean 28 foot of water going into Ocean City?

They issued the Code Red notification at 10:40 p.m. Saturday after Hurricane Irene poured more than seven inches of rain in the area. The county says a dam failure may cause significant flooding that could threaten people, homes and roads downstream.
Downstream residents are urged to move family and pets upstairs or to a high place with a means of escape.

Drinking here too. Sounds calm outside at the moment. VOC says I’m a “wolverine” when the power fails. I should be ok this time as long as I can keep my ipad charged. Then I can play Angry Birds.

That's one very ignorant reporter standing chest deep in flood waters. He even said "Oh look! Here are some waves" as he waded out into the chest deep water. And then the two news bimbettes praised and thanked him for his "courage"?!
This is a case where the news media took yet another turn for the sensational Jackass moment making it look like anyone could do it, that it is fun.
It is outrageous and in very poor taste. Where are the adults these days?
