MSNBC's Chris Jansing: Is Rick Perry 'Too Far Off Even for the GOP?'
News Busters ^ | August 24. 2011 | Scott Whitlock

Posted on 08/24/2011 8:58:12 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Guest hosting for Chris Matthews on Tuesday, MSNBC's Chris Jansing derided Rick Perry, wondering if the Republican presidential candidate is "too far off even for the GOP?"

Jansing, who normally hosts supposedly straight news coverage for the cable network, attempted to generate controversy over statements Perry made on civil rights. A MSNBC graphic for the segment, mocked, "I have a scheme."

According to Jansing, Perry's problem answer came in "comparing" the civil rights to cutting corporate tax rates. Here's Perry's full answer:

RICK PERRY: America's gone a long way from the standpoint of civil rights and thank God we have. I mean, we've gone from a country that's made great strides in issues of civil rights. I think we all can be proud of that.

And as we go forward, America needs to be about freedom. It needs to be about freedom from over taxation, freedom from over-litigation, freedom from over-regulation. And Americans, regardless of social and economic background is, they need to know that they can come to America and you got a chance to have any dream come true, because the economic climate is going to be improved

An indignant Jansing huffed, "So, does Perry really believe African-Americans' struggle for civil rights is comparable to the GOP's fight for lower taxes?"

Talking to Alex Wagner of the liberal Huffington Post, she slammed, "Is this ignorance?...Is this insensitivity?"

Piling on Republican, Jansing marveled, "I mean, when you look at this series of quotes from [Perry's] book, some of which he's backing off on, you have to sit back as a political analyst and say, is he too far off even for the GOP?"

Jansing is supposed to be a straight forward journalist. But, apparently, guest-hosting Hardball turns MSNBC's reporters into just another liberal anchor.

Since Chris Jansing is so busy making a LIBERAL fool out of himself that he can't open his eyes and see that the U.S. economy needs jobs and relief from overbearing Obama taxation and regulations and EPA dictates, I'll repeat Gov. Perry's points.

This is how you "create" jobs -- you create an environment that is friendly to employers!

Rick Perry:

FIRST: "Don't spend all the money!"

SECOND: "Have a fair and predictable tax and regulatory policy!"

THIRD: "Have a legal system that doesn't allow for over suing and make loser pay!"

Is Chris Jansing too far off even for MSNBC?

Oh what the hell am I thinking?

Of course not!

Sorry.

Perry forced gardasil on Texas to take care of the drug maker because he took lots of campaign cash from them , what is he willing to force on America to payoff his 2012 campaign?

High taxes are a form of oppression. So, yes, both are struggles against oppression.

Silliness.

Perry is just a run-of-the-mill charismatic politician. Reminds me of LBJ under a different label.

I’ve noticed that it’s a theme from the left. Clearly they can’t run on “hope and change”, and they can’t run on Obama’s record.

So, it’s clear they’ve decided to paint the GOP as having been pulled to the extreme right by the tea party. Morning Joe had the editor of Slate on yesterday, and he did nothing but call Republicans “stupid”, (his word), for his segment.

So, the DNC has decided they can’t sell Obama, so they’ll try and push the Independents to the Democrats by painting the GOP as stupid and radical. I know they usually do that, but it seems to be more of a concerted effort now.

Hey, by the way, RonBot: I actually DID like George W. Bush. If Perry gets elected, I’m pretty sure I’ll like him even more!

Who’s your BFF? Barack Obama?

Mind if I ask you a personal question? Why the hell would anyone in their right mind “follow you on twitter”? You don’t seem to have *anything* to offer, except a perpetually chapped azz.

Lyndsay Graham could run for president and the MSM would say “Could the country elect such a right-wing extremist?”

Well shame on Texas then.

Texas's problem for reelecting him, not mine.

He WAS reelected, no?

They knew his history, no?

Their base is so dumbed down and radicalized, it's all they have. As you say, they can't say Obama's made things work. They can only say that the GOP has stopped Obama from walking on water.

Elites who like the destruction of free-market capitalism will do and say anything to steer us over the cliff. The rest are their useful idiots.

RED is a PlainBot whiner. He and a bunch of other PlainBots love to stir the pot and flamebait. But go over to their thread and aska simple quation about Sarah Palin and they cry to JimR to ban you. Next week when SP endorses Perry lots of the PlainBots will feel awfully stupid. But then again drones on the right are not much better than drones on the left.

The msm loved mccain until he became the nominee, then they turned on him because of the gop tag.
This go round, they love romney.
They hate Perry and Palin.
The msm will openly campaign for baraq.

Who ever the media hates most is probabaly best for this country.

I rarely listen to Geraldo but I wasn’t fast enough the other morning. He sounded like he was a supporter, at least he seemed to be saying Hispanics would support him. However, I looked and he said at one point said he should be impeached. Of course, Geraldo is...well, we all know what he is. :)

RED is a PlainBot whiner.

From his/her/its posting history, there's evidence that he/she/it may be more of a RonBot. Of course, like a lot of the 'bots, when directly confronted, this one won't say where their allegience lies.

Mind you, I *like* Sarah Palin. Unfortunately, she's not running now -- if ever -- and of the rest of the field IMHO Perry is the best choice. FRegards
