That was no earthquake.
It was the bottom falling out of Obama’s economy.
I have also read that the east coast tends to experience shallower quakes than the ones out west.
(I know I haven't felt anything like it since the Radford Arsenal blew up while I was attending Virginia Tech).
At least an Earth Quake Czar.
They’re closing the building - we’re out of here.
What I heard may have been the end of the rolling. I am on a high bluff just above the Mississippi River in Southwestern IL. (I am about 2 miles from the river, but way up high and not in a flood zone. We typically deal with the New Madrid & Wabash faults here.)
Hi Tara! THAT wouldn’t surprise me at ALL! I visited there with my 8th grade class back in 1986 - only a LITTLE wind, but I swear the top was swaying a good 3-5 ft. back and forth. I can’t imagine it withstanding a decent earthquake...
I’m sure the surveyors have already made some checks...They did quite a bit of work a few years back and when the Capitol Dome was removed.
I have an uncle east of Richmond that I can’t through to (phone lines busy). That’s somewhat relieving to hear, as Fredericksburg is closer to the epicenter than he is.
He’s about 1/2 way between Richmond and Newport News.
Report coming in of buildings swaying are now are being reported up to 1000 miles from the epicenter...A 6 range quake doing this seems a little odd.
NC is beautiful, but I can’t handle the humidity. I do love the thunderstorms, though!
How is this different from any other earthquake...what makes it a warning?
ROFLOL!
Thanks for the great big laugh, SoldierDad!
December 9, 2003: At 3:59 p.m. EST (20:59 UTC) in the foothills about 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of Richmond and was felt as far away as Norfolk [and western NC, I can say from experience]; Magnitude 4.5
Obama’s new poll lows hitting the WH
Indeed they do, but they acquit themselves well. No looting, no panicking, media hysteria (that I know of).
Bawhahaha...don’t fret, we here in Texas have our own quake line running down our state...just a matter of time before we get hit...BUT suffice to say that we have our very own “GOD WARNING”...it’s called the DROUGHT...WOOZERS! IT’S BAD! Another 100+ degree week with no easing up in sight....bummer it’s hotter than hell here!
Probably due to sudden spike in attempted calls more than anything.
Use SMS text - less issue with high volume congestion on channels.
...the hell???
LOL... Post of the day! You're probably right. ;-)
