SarahPAC: Setting The Record Straight – Wrong & Misleading

Posted on August 22 2011 - 11:33 PM - Posted by:

SarahPAC released the following statement:

Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin’s political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have “inside information” regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24-hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the “politics-as-usual” that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.

PS – Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight and including Governor Palin’s own words.

Here is an excerpt from the CNN article by Peter Hamby referenced above:

Here she is, in her own words:

Q: When is a good time? Do you have a timeline?

Palin: I have said that that August/September timeframe is important for logistical and legal reasons to jump in there, but…

Q: So by next month?

Palin: I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time. Also, in fairness to supporters, who are standing on the timeline, and this is what I have told Todd over and over again, I don’t want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along, asking supporters, ‘Oh don’t just jump in there on someone else’s bandwagon because I may jump in, so hold off a little bit.’ That is not fair to them. After another month or two goes by, they need to know who it is that they can jump behind. Now more than ever, everybody has got to get involved in this 2012 election. They need to get out there and campaign for their chosen candidates, its all the more reason to hurry up and decide.

A few moments later, there was this exchange:

Q: Will you know by the next time you are here in Iowa whether you will be in, over Labor Day?

Palin: I doubt it. By the next time I am here by September 3? I don’t know if within the next couple of weeks I will be ready for an announcement or not.

Q: So the end of September is no longer a viable deadline?

Palin: No, he was asking about my next visit here on September 3, if I would be ready for an announcement September 3. And I said I don’t know if I would be ready by September 3.

Q: So the end of September would still be your timetable?

Palin: That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.

And, on top of that, Perry shows some dangerous signs of being a globalist. Globalism, if it is allowed to continue, will eventually destroy the American Republic, whatever its other alleged benefits may be.

Not only a globalist, but a dominionist to boot. He has some top names in the Dominion movement handling his prayer events. Republican In Name Only is less dangerious than Christian In Name Only. Perry is both.

I like Palin, she is real. It has been so long since I could actually believe in a politician its shocking the contrast between Palin and the rest.

The arguments have been made, the truth is out there. How can someone with the Spirit of Christ within them vote for infanticide and the removal of Christ from the public square classroom?

Yes it`s my honest opinion that a person with the Spirit of Christ within them would not be able to vote for such things, yes it`s what I believe absolutely.

The choices are clear it`s NOT “just politics” but life and death issues.

To vote Democrat in the last 50 years or so is to spit on Christ, absolutely I believe that.

Many of us are weeping, begging these folks to lift a finger to stop the killing of the unborn, but they refuse.

Multiple Scriptures in the New Testament referring to HARMING A CHILD, too many to mention here.

Jesus said when you give a child a glass of water, you do it unto me, when you with hold the water you also do it unto me

How much more when we simply refuse to save a child by a simple vote.

They have NO defense.

Please feel free to provide documentation of this claim.

All is speculation at this point...

People can’t support some of the Republican candidates or they will get kicked off FR?

How can you honestly say that? Is your support for a particular candidate giving you angst to make that statement?

You have hit the trifecta with this absurd statement...it is delusional, certifiable and childish.

Coming from you, that is an extreme compliment. Thank you!

Gal has guts, that's all I can say.

Yes she does and this country was built on guts! That's what separates her from the rest of the pack - her fire in the belly patriotism and her accomplishments PROVE it!

Yes, it is, but to imply that Palin supporters are purposely misstating the facts is untrue.

That is beyond words unbelievable. So now Sarah Palin is POTUS?If that is not proof they need fresh air and reality I don’ know what is...

It seems like... now the Palinista’s will try to blame Rove/the MSM for they’re promoting the Sept. 3rd false date. I watched them dream it up all on they’re own way before the media started wondering. Too boot... when the media guessed Sept. 3rd they posted the thread like it was fact and they’re insider knowledge confirmed. I tried to tell them as kindly as I could that she is keynoting; it is just a speech.

The first date was July when legal stuff ends then Aug 11 by the time the debate hits for sure; then Sept. 3. Some said Nov. like Reagan like it was gospel. Oh and can’t forget the prediction that people will write in Palin’s name at the straw poll. There was a October surprise announcement thread as well. But it was all the MSM and Rove’s fault they’re “inside knowledge” and gut feelings that made it fact is all of a sudden not correct and Rove made them act like self appointed campaign managers I suppose.. How sad.

And, they all willfully ignore the "pay-to-see-her" October event with Beck.

What serious POTUS candidate charges up to $103.00 just to hear him/her talk?

This is the Palin hokey-pokey ----- she puts her right foot in ---- she puts her right foot out........

And they all dance....

That was my point...people need to back off from the BS (such as you pointed out)...no one has ANY IDEA what Governor Palin is up to...when SHE is ready; she will let us know.

In the meantime; I am going to do something constructive...I am going to pick some tomatoes. :-)

3. He used to be a Democrat and was Al Gore’s campaign manager in Texas

Both statements are true. Perry was raised in a Democrat family where his father was a long-serving Democrat county commissioner. It was natural for him to start his political career as a Democrat. He won his first election in 1984 when he was elected to the Texas house and soon became a rising star in Texas democrat politics. An opportunity to advance himself presented itself and he became Gore’s Texas campaign manager in 1988.

Those too young to remember wouldn’t recognize the Al Gore of 1988. He opposed the federal funding of abortion, supported a moment of silence in schools for prayer, approved funding of the Nicaraguan contras and was against the ban on interstate handgun sales. Gore’s platform was one that a conservative West Texas Democrat like state representative Perry could support when he signed up to chair the Senator’s Texas campaign.

From the election on, the Gore/Perry partnership began to crumble and the way that their paths diverged in the past three decades speaks eloquently to the way American politics has been reshaped. Gore has sailed left, while Perry’s political odyssey has seen him tack in the other direction — and to the opposing party.

Perry says that the Gore experience helped him to “come to his senses,” and he switched to the Republican party in 1989, fully 22 years ago. Perry switched parties over two decades ago and critics somehow think that bringing it up now is newsworthy? Sorry guys, as we say in Texas, that dog won’t hunt.

If you’re interested in more details, here is a Texas Tribune article titled “Rick Perry: The Democrat Years.”

If critics insist that it’s fair to criticize Perry now for his actions of 22 years ago, it is also fair to apply that same scrutiny and criticism to cover positions espoused by every other politician covering the past 22 years – President Obama included. Is it time to revisit Obama’s anti-American associations, his time in Rev. Wright’s church, his “present” votes, etc.? Let the scrutiny and criticism begin …

Rick Perry was raised in the Methodist church..

Hey :)
Sorry I haven’t asked to be on the Palin ping list before.. but, if I hadn’t seen a Perrybot complaining about this thread in another thread, I would have missed it >.<

(and it is contradicting what he was complaining about in the other thread too :D )

Please add me ;)
