Not an absurd claim on its face in theory, the more people hate Washington generally, the more all relevant players should suffer but its astounding to think this is the same guy who swore up and down on the trail that he was going to transform the way D.C. does business. Three years ago his message was, Elect me and strike a blow for hope. Now his message is, Reelect me because Congress is hopeless. Now thats Change.
CBSs edit of the interview doesnt include Obamas full answer so here it is in the interest of fairness:
Mason: This past week Congress popularity obviously is, theyre, it barely registers. But this past week your popularity hit a record low. What does that say to you?
President Obama: Well, what it says to me is Im the President of the United States and when people arent happy with whats happening in Washington, that Im gonna be impacted just like Congress is. And you know I completely understand that, we expected that.
But when you look at how people feel about my approach to deficit reduction or when you look at how people feel about my belief that weve gotta continue to invest in education or medical research or making sure that were rebuilding our roads and our bridges and our seaports and our airports, when you look at how people feel about the agenda to rebuild America so that its competitive in the 21st century that Ive been promoting over the last couple of years, it turns out that people are supportive of that.

Reminds me of the King Friday the Thirteenth puppet character on "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood."
‘President Obama: Well, what it says to me is Im the President of the United States and when people arent happy with whats happening in Washington, that Im gonna be impacted just like Congress is. And you know I completely understand that, we expected that.’
Coulda swore obama worked in Washington!
Trying Truman’s ‘do nothing Congress’ is a brilliant stroke to cover obama’s incompetence! harry reid, recently relected, will just table anything from the house and ‘Do nothing!’
Sorry, Mr. President, your disapproval ratings are high because your very economic policies in regards to regulations and taxation are causing businesses and consumers to close their pocketbooks out of fear. Small wonder why there's so much interest in Republican candidates for 2012.
Hey, we’re only about half way there...
Delusional! There is no other word for it! I think he is marginally insane! I really believe he is impeachable because he is incapable of forming a coherent thought! He is incapacitated by the demands of the job and may be the stupidest president ever elected.
Barack sh!t, much more smelly and totally useless.
No, Obama and his policies is hurting his approval rating!
You are doing just fine all by yourlonesome, Mr. Pres__ _ent.
You give them too much credit, Fling - it's more like a high school thing...
I literally laughed out loud!
Obama: “The only thing keeping me from winning is I have opposition!”
I hope the nightmare ends soon!
If Obama ever blames himself, it would be one of those existential moments that would rip a hole in the space/time continuum.
I bet when he passes gas he blames the secret service!
Oh - and Robin, I loved seeing your Ferrari on Magnum PI! ;-P
CBS is nothing but a shill for liberal’s & Democrats. Sickening bast@rds.
George Bush, who doesn’t have a vote in congress and who no longer occupies The White House, is to blame for it all.
He broke Obama’s promise, to put all bills on the White House web site for five days before signing them.
He broke Obama’s promise, to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C-SPAN.
He broke Obama’s promise, to end earmarks.
He broke Obama’s promise, to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent.
He broke Obama’s promise, to close the detention center at Guantanamo in the first year.
He broke Obama’s promise, to make peace with direct, no precondition talks with America’s most hate-filled enemies during his first year in office, ushering in a new era of global cooperation.
He broke Obama’s promise, to end the hiring of former lobbyists into high White House jobs.
He broke Obama’s promise, to end no-compete contracts with the government.
He broke Obama’s promise, to disclose the names of all attendees at closed White House meetings.
He broke Obama’s promise, for a new era of bipartisan cooperation in all matters.
He broke Obama’s promise, to have chosen a home church to attend Sunday services with his family by Easter of last year.
He finally has gotten to the bottom of the barrel and is now blaming MICHELLE. All her fault.
Have you ever heard of any liberal taking the blame for anything? Ever?
Obama + Idiocracy = Obidiocracy
Four more years! Four more years!(not)
