Ames, Iowa Political organizer Peter Singleton tells National Review Online that Sarah Palin will likely launch a presidential campaign by the end of September. I believe that she will run, he says. I cant see her sitting this election out.
Palin, a former Alaska governor, is scheduled to address a tea-party rally on September 3 in south-central Iowa. Singleton is one of the forces behind the event, working with grassroots groups. Labor Day will kick off the Republican campaign for the nomination, he hints. She is going to make a major, major speech.
[....]
GOP presidential contenders, from Rick Perry to Mitt Romney, will be in for a shock when Palin makes her entry, he predicts. When she gets in the race, I would not want to be the other candidates, who have shamelessly whispered to Iowa Republicans for months that she is not running, he says. There will probably be some defections.

OH, did I forget to reply? Dang me!
Please know, that should your idea catch on, I will kindly forward all FR mail received to *lucky gracious* you!
LOL.
I just wish he would shut up. I think he’s enjoying the attention way too much.
ONLY Sarah and Todd Palin know when she’s going to announce.
Patience. The delay so far has been very smart strategically and she’s got to begin filing for her run by mid-October.
How do you say she has "little money" if there isn't yet a campaign fund to measure? She's said her campaign will be "very, very grassroots," so it's not likely you're going to be reading stories about the usual cadre of big money donors lining up behind her.
As for the lack of national advisors, (1) she's made it clear she won't be hiring people from inside the political bubble; and (2),you have no personal knowledge, nor do I, as to whom she is consulting with. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, as the truism goes. And winning over independents is a task for the general campaign.
She can’t get the big money because she does not support open borders. This is why she is running a “shadow candidacy” funded only by “We the People”
Agreed, gbc, when Rove starts plumping it as a likely and necessary date for her to announce, you just know that 1) it isn’t so, and 2) it’s being suggested as a way to try to undermine her.
Singleton just had lunch with her this week and I’d trust his message.
I can only speak for myself, and I have no strategy here. I'm simply offering thoughts and educated guesses, just the same as others here; in my case, they are based upon 40+ years of observing and studying politics. Which certainly doesn't mean that I'm not wrong.
The longer she waits, the more opportunities her GOP opponents will have to do considerable damage to themselves and each other.
They are compiling a growing list of mostly self-inflicted wounds:
Cain: I’ll learn about foreign policy later
Gingrich: A vacation seemed like a good idea at the time.
Romney: I’m unemployed, just like you.
Bachmann: $2 gas and a chicken in every pot.
Huntsman: Call me crazy.
Santorum: Perry’s out of bounds.
Pawlenty: Bachmann’s out of bounds.
Ron Paul: Iran with a nuke? No problem.
Perry: I carry so I can shoot myself in the mouth.
Palin: Keep it up guys. You’re doing great!
nope...not sarcasm
2. That is the truth.
Wishing real bad that I could be at the rally in Iowa on Sept. 3rd...to watch as Sarah lifts her lamp to lead America’s Restoration!!
I would ask you; why?
What should she be doing? The real election is next November.
Or looking at it this way; how much do we remember from September of 2007 and what the different Rep candidate were saying.
Here's the bottom line; most of it is noise.
I really think the big speech is to declare that she is not going to run, but will instead actively campaign for conservative Republicans, and she might even endorse Perry._____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Crack is not the answer my friend!
I’ll remember to save your post as you eat crow
She may not officially announce on September 3, but she may say she’s forming an exploratory committee or something similar. I think on 9/3 she’s either going to announce or drop a VERY strong hint that she is running.
No way she waits until Jan or Feb
Does this political activist speaking in this article post at FR? This article reeks of innuendo, gossip and predictions. The gossip off other camps saying she is not running is ridiculous. The prediction of defections happening just because Palin announces is way over the top. Another make things up as you go along story by people thinking they’re her campaign manager.
It's not impossible.... especially if she can attract a truly huge grass-roots effort... but it's on the short side of likelihood.
I do know who Palin is not consulting with, because they have already signed on to other campaigns, and it's pretty much a "Who's Who" of GOP strategists. Might she be able to win with outsiders, only? I'd have to rate that as a long shot, but again, in politics you learn to never say "never". Strange things can happen, especially when your country is being run by a gang of Marxists.
