Texas Governor Rick Perry, the latest GOP candidate to enter the 2012 presidential race, looks to challenge former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romneys status as the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination. I've got news for the author. Romney isn't the frontrunner, Perry is.

I hope that Perry points out, before the demagoguery, that the Food Stamp Program and other subsidies is so full of fraud that cost the truly in need.

Seriously?
That’s good news. When did Perry pull ahead? Even Rush is saying Mitt is the frontrunner as of last week or so.

Most Americans do not yearn to be dependent on government subsidies, they want economic freedom, and economic freedom comes from work and wages, not welfare, Perry argued. /
He said it all right there!

... Perry slammed the Obama administrations view of food stamps and other government subsidies. Most Americans do not yearn to be dependent on government subsidies, they want economic freedom, and economic freedom comes from work and wages, not welfare, Perry argued.

I would remind Vilsack that a job with benefits would be a far better direct stimulus to the economy than a taxpayer handout. This administration’s willing support of an entitlement society is dangerous and irresponsible.

I’d like to see Perry require all able body folks on assistance like Welfare work. IF they receive Welfare you have to work for the state you live in. They can do whatever needs to be done like: picking trash up off the highways; dig ditches; clean public toilets; clean roadside toilets etc. IF they receive welfare the state will make them productive citizens by working for their welfare. No More free lunches...as the scripture teaches if you don’t work you don’t eat.

“Besides reiterating his belief that food stamps arent economic stimulus, Perry talked about the need to focus on the private sector when it comes to job creation. We have tried two and a half years of government trying to create jobs, its time to let the private sector get to work, Perry argued.”
The private sector is scared to do anything at this point because of all the uncertainty out there all due to Obama of course. 2012 can’t come soon enough for me.

Yeah, if we get them to do the most demeaning labor possible and maybe brandish them with like a letter A across their foreheads and give them jumpsuits. It would be a great way to dissuade those freeloaders.

You should visit some of the leftists blogs.
They are already saying that Perry is another Bush or the he is Bush the dumber.
So it begins. The Alinski tactics are in play and the man is only 1 week into the race.

Last week he pulled ahead of Romney by double digits (Gallup or Rass I forget which poll) shortly after he announced. We will see if it holds.

Perry’s going to be slapped down with that statement. Texas has a huge welfare program. I used to share an office with the welfare office and their secretary quit after figuring out that welfare clients took home more than she did in her state of Texas paycheck. Also, how many illegals is Texas funding with welfare? Throw in all the “free” school breakfasts and lunches and yes, Garadsil is being given for “free” by public school nurses. How many illegals are on the Texas welfare lists? How about those same illegals paying in-state college tuition? Sorry, Perry, but look in the mirror, you can’t play holier than thou on this topic. Typical Perry campaign talk.
