I don’t have to visit any place else they are here. Hey, I suspect there are plenty on the left that’d today like to see W back...W had low unemployment. People could find jobs...the economy was in good shape. W wasn’t purposely destroying America. There are those on the left, believe or not, that aren’t happy with the destruction of America...so W comes to mind.

Just like Romney.

He'll say anything he thinks you want him to say, be anything you want him to be.

Qualifications for welfare and fodd stamps shoudl be easy.

If you are physically and mentally able to take care of yourself you do not qualify. End of story.

“Besides reiterating his belief that food stamps aren’t “economic stimulus,” Perry...

His “belief”, really? Who writes this crap?! By what standard, economic or otherwise, can taking money out of the economy and placing it back in be considered “stimulative”. IT'S THE SAME POOL OF MONEY! It's the equivalent of taking water out one side of the pool to place it in the other! In my best Sam Kinison impersonation... “AH AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Useless blather. It would be newsworthy if he were to tackle the entitlements crisis. Tell me Gov. Perry - are you going to cut Medicare / Medicaid / SS benefits, raise taxes to pay for benefits or a combo of the two?

I have been spouting this for years. Set up large daycare facilities and make welfare mothers take turns as sitters. One week you babysit other kids, other weeks, you paint grafitti off buildings, sweep streets, etc.. Whatever needs to be done.

Your post illustrates how much the Federal Government’s mandatory programs have overwhelmed States’ governance.

Note how the Governors of Arizona; Brewer and Wisconsin are being bullied by this Administration’s Cabinet/Departments.

That headline is a lie. Perry *did not* “slam food stamps”. Instead he “slammed” the Obama apparatchik who said that “food stamps stimulate the economy.”

This is NOT a subtle difference, so it is pretty obvious that whoever wrote the headline did so to attack Perry.

That being said, supporting food stamps right now is essential to Republican victory, as people who rely on food stamps, more and more that are middle class unemployed, MUST have food stamps if they want to eat.

Mind you, they WANT employment, but there is no employment, so they are pretty desperate. And anyone who even talks about cutting food stamps right now they must think of as their enemy. They have no choice. Vote for whoever keeps giving food stamps or starve.

That is not a good choice, because they would vote for the devil himself, if it would keep food on their table.

So no matter what any of us philosophically think about the wisdom of food stamps, for heaven’s sake, DO NOT encourage ANY Republican candidate or office holder to talk about cutting them back AT ALL.

Once unemployment is back down to 3-5%, then maybe. BUT NOT NOW.

However....some pick welfare and all that goes with it as a lifestyle CHOICE!

I know too many that wont take a job if it's not under the table.....Their 1st choice is not to lose the freebies......their 2nd is an under the table job....it's like us working overtime for those lil extras we'd like in life

“Wants to scrap the federal income tax by repealing the 14th amendment”

The Federal Income Tax is the 16th Amendment.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/14th_Amendment_to_the_US_Constitution

The 14th Amendment gives black Americans citizenship, makes the Bill of Rights apply to the States, requires equal protection before the law, abolishes legal segregation, etc.

Granted, *parts* of the 14th Amendment need to be changed or reinterpreted, such as giving citizenship to children of illegal aliens born here. But not repealed.

Repeal the 16th, agreed. Repeal the 17th, the Direct Election of Senators, agreed.
