MOVING BEYOND CAPE BOJADOR

The early Portuguese explorers believed that the oceans were impassable below Cape Bojador, a point on the West African coast. When sailors set aside their fears and moved past Cape Bojador, they found that their fears were groundless, that their limitations were imaginary. We all have our own Cape Bojador. We fear things that we need not fear. We draw boundaries around areas of our lives and decide that we can't go past them. Since we believe these false paradigms, we will stay within their artificial boundaries and lose whatever experiences we might have found outside them. What limits do we set upon ourselves? Have you thought about working on your college degree, but fear getting started? Does a certain rating appeal to you, but others have told you it was unattainable, so you have remained where you are? Advancement or promotion seems so far away that we resign ourselves to our present position and fail to expand our skills and knowledge

More than 300 years before the time of Christ, Alexander the Great was marching across Asia Minor. He led the greatest army ever put together up to that time. They had conquered every foe. No one could stand up against them. They reached the Himalaya Mountains, and the advance leaders came back to Alexander full of concern and dismay. "We have marched off the map," they said. "We should go back to where we know." And they had literally marched off the known map of that time. Alexander listened to them and then said this: "Mediocre armies always stay within the known areas. The great armies always march off the map." Making decisions, initiating new relationships, starting projects, taking a leap of faith, all require that we go beyond our Cape Bojador. Are we willing to press on and take the chance of "marching off the map?" Let's go for it! Full speed ahead!

You definitely need to find the studs - the drywall is nowhere near strong enough to support any weight.

Back is out - didn't get to the Parade or to the Banquet. Will try again next year - the reunion is in Portland OR. Spent a nice weekend there about 30 years ago.

Aloha again Night Owl!

I'm not a carpenter but have done framing of walls. Interior wall studs should be 16" on center. With a staircase, follow the stepped stringers along to find where they are attached to the studs in the wall if you can and mark with a vertical line, otherwise get a stud finder to locate the positions. If the rail fastening positions don't match, you may have to return the railing and find another or customize one to fit.

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the
Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.

A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours, Hawaii.

My IT friend from work came over and worked on getting my computers wireless via a new router. That went fairly well, but getting my external drives all grouped together proved to be a bigger and longer challenge....and ultimately didn’t work. He’s thinking Vista may be part of the problem, so I’m taking my CPU to work tomorrow and he will install Windows 7 and hopefully have some sort of an answer from the router folks re my issue.

This seems to be par for the course with me and computers. LOL!

Hope you got to see your little wahines and son this weekend.

AND.....later in the evening I copied and pasted the thread again in a preview box and all the centering was just fine. *sigh*
