As WND reported, radio host Rush Limbaugh raised an intriguing question on the air: "Where are all of Obama's former girlfriends?"
In referring to past email inquiries he received on this subject, Limbaugh continued, "They are interesting because those people haven't surfaced. There aren't any ex-girlfriends that have admitted it."
In fact, I wrote about this question in my book, "Deconstructing Obama," and on these pages last year. As the likely source of these rumors, I thought I might clarify them, at least to the degree they can be clarified.
As it happens, Obama inadvertently raised the girlfriend issue himself in his 1995 memoir, "Dreams from My Father." Published when he was 33, "Dreams" documents Obama's all-consuming search for identity.
Whether he dated white women or black women and what he might have learned from either matters, but Obama gives the reader very close to nothing.
"Cosby never got the girl on 'I Spy,'" he laments in "Dreams," but in his own retelling, he does not do much better.
Although Obama spent 13 years on the mainland as a single man, on only one occasion in "Dreams" does Obama make any reference to his love life.
In a brief recounting, he tells his half-sister, Auma, that in addition to a white woman he had loved and lost, "There are several black ladies out there who've broken my heart just as good."

Very tangential, not relevant, his girlie days are long gone.... he is a proven husband of MANY years. He’s almost a senior citizen who has spent his life out in the open for too many years. I’ll bet he still has friends from childhood days.
Not really ... presumably an ex-girlfriend would know Obama and his friends pretty well and have strong survival instincts (if she lasted this long). Some of Obama's associates in Chicago seem to have lacked the latter (may they rest in peace).
Thats a big couch too!
Have you ever sat that close to another man on a couch? I haven’t.
I don’t know how much I believe Kevin DuJan of Hill Buzz - the gay conservative website mentioned by Rush the other day - but he always says that it was an open secret in Chicago that Obama and Rahm were gay.
No, it's eminent -- as in "she was eminently practical".
That is my impression too.
The whole point of the girlfriend question is to imply he is really gay.
Iminent means that something is happening momentarily.
Being unfamiliar with that particular iteration, I’ll have to take your word for it.
‘Immanent’, now, is a word I do know, as is ‘imminent’. Fwiw.
If you believe as I do that his policies and fear of more of the same as far as that goes is a big part of why the economy is where it is then you know there is really nothing that can rescue him.
Even if someone had the utter gall to publicly question his total lie of a life story I still think he is destined for the ash heap of political history.
I have no way of knowing, but I will give you odds that he has homosexual relationships in his past ( and perhaps ongoing). May God have mercy on this country.
No, I think he really did mean “eminent.” Immanent, imminent, and eminent are all English words, but eminent does seem to fit in this quote just fine.
But but 0bama married a real beauty. She may look good now but when she was young she was a fox! Someone post that picture of Michelle in her prom dress.
No one knows (for sure) much at all about Obama. But the same media that had no interest in vetting him has promised to do whatever it takes to expose every detail of Rick Perry's entire life, back to kindergarten, if necessary.
I’m with you, this is a stupid question. Where were all Bush’s ex-girlfriends? Or his dad’s? Reagan? Carter? It’s a sad world where we think there should be more tabloid fodder about... well anybody really. We need LESS tabloid crap.
That depends on whether he is talking down to the ignorant masses, or whipping up the congregation with a little ethnic-speak.
We could split hairs, but I’m going with standard usage. ‘Eminent’ usually refers to high ranking or the equivalent, such as ‘an eminent official of the church’. ‘Immanent’ refers to an inherent quality, such as, ‘she was immanently practical’.
Your mileage may vary.
Beards?
Straight guys simply don’t sit that close to other guys. When I look at that photo, I get this overwhelming urge to quote Moe Howard and yell, “spread out.”
