Among the protestors at this morning's meet and greet in Portsmouth, N.H., a mother used her child as a prop to confront Rick Perry about his beliefs on evolution and science.
The mother pushed her son towards Perry and insisted he ask the governor about the age of the earth.
"How old do I think the earth is? You know what, I don't have any idea," Perry said. "I know it's pretty old so it goes back a long long way. I'm not sure anybody actually knows completely and absolutely how long, how old the earth is."
While Perry was answering the child's question, the mother continued to loudly whisper in the child's ear to ask him about evolution and why he doesn't believe in science.
"Here your mom was asking about evolution, and you know it's a theory that's out there, and it's got some gas in it. In Texas we teach both creationsim and evolution in our public schools," Perry said. "Because I figure you're smart enough to figure out which one is right."

I’m guessing this woman drives a Volvo with bumper stickers all over it.
The Left are a bunch of pimps and exploiters, kids, the sick and dying, and Holder’s people are their props.
"Science" is code for tax-funded abortion.
Why exactly do liberals think a candidate’s religion is a relevant campaign issue?
I’m not a perry supporter, but I thought his answer was good.
I’m still laughing.
Here’s another account and promise of a video to come.
ML/NJ
Hey! What are you saying? I drive a Volvo with a "Freedom Isn't Free" flag sticker on it. If I could find a "Palin/West" bumper sticker, I'd put that on it, too.
You got to give Perry credit. He is quite good on his feet with these planted questions.
That is what happens when an executive branch leader who actually makes decisions (unlike legislators who just vote) - you have to understand the issue, both sides of the issue and make a decision. After that process, you don’t need talking points, because you really understand the issue and can explain in a logical way why you did what you did. Guy wasn’t reelected twice in Texas for being a dope.
Can’t wait to see him go toe to toe with the MSM.
Good answer.
I like how he doesn’t fall for these kind of traps.
I like how he doesn’t fall for these kind of traps.
What has "some gas in it" was mom. What a hoot. Perry is going to make this tolerable.
Maybe he should have said Prius or Volt.
In the purple area that I live in, the vehicle of choice for the libtards is the Suburu. They’re everywhere. Another thing they like to do is leave prior election stickers on them.
Oh, I thought she put her kid up in the Gov’s face because he looked like a monkey and needed an answer. :(
I see lots of liberals in the northeast. These days they drive Hondas, Acuras, and Toyotas. And of course the liberal SUV is the Subaru. And I see more and more SmartCars (hahahaha)too...although not so much in winter.
re-elected 3 times...
Longest serving Gov in Texas history.
There are a few things Perry could have asked that ignorant mother, such as:
Why are you willing to put intellectual blinders on your child’s scientific inquiry?
Why are you willing to reject that inquiry for a theory that has failed to produce one iota of fact in over 150 years, that in fact, the scientific record does not support “evolution”, at all? It doesn’t concern you that secular science has not been able to produce more than theories regarding “first cause”?
Are you concerned, at ALL, that belief in evolution is as much a “religion” as what YOU claim against creationists? That it requires faith to keep believing in it?
Lastly, just for fun...Mommy, have you begun to express a belief in “alien seeding”, just as some of our scientists in evolution and, even, some in the Intelligent Design quarter, have done?
