Rubio was born in Miami, so there is no issue as far as the Supreme Court is concerned. If some Freepers and the WND editorial staff wants to make an issue about it, they're welcome to.

But Rubio as a VP pick would be the best option in my opinion. He's a true Tea Party sympathizer, and even though he's only been in the Senate for 18 months, he's not an inexperienced know nothing like Obama was at this stage. He was Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, not just an inconsequential legislator who voted 'present'.

He's also a great pick because he'll be a non-token minority in an electorate that is increasingly concerned about such things. First Hispanic VP, and is the perfect choice to be groomed as future President.

He included Perry and dumped Palin before any of us knew for certain that he was even in!!

Rasmussen is a part of the Republican Establishment, this is fact, not opinion!

Looking ridiculous and hypocritical has never stopped Democrats before. Why would they stop now?

I keep hearing Perry is not Bush and I don't know enough about him to have formed a strong opinion. But the similarity is noteworthy.

As far as background and bio goes, Perry is nothing like Bush. Not even close.

Bush was a blue-blood born and raised in liberal Maine. Perry grew up dirt poor in Bumfuk Nowhere Texas. His ancestors were confederate soldiers.

Perry's story as told by him to the Texas Monthly

What Paint Creek Texas can tell you about Rick Perry

The Governor Who Almost Wasn't

No, it isn’t. Perry is George W. Bush II. Is this really the best we can do?

Check out the WSJ article posted on FR about Perry’s crony capitalism problem.

Your statements are basically correct except Bush was raised and graduated High School in Midland, TX...although I do expect he spent some time in the summers in Maine...and as hot as it is here in Texas this year....who could blame him. Also not many HS age males care a whit about liberal or conservative in terms of politics....they have only one thing on their minds....and that liberal or conservative aspect might come into play!

Has Perry ever shot a moose from a helicopter with one of those things?

I believe he bagged a Yeti once.

Well, if Perry having been a Democrat is so horrible, why not just go for Romney, who, for all we can tell, has always been a Republican?

I think the following comments from Rasmussen are significant:

“Sixty-nine percent (69%) of primary voters hold a favorable opinion of Perry, with 38% Very Favorable. Bachmann is viewed favorably by 71%, with 32% who share a Very Favorable regard for her.”

“Romney has slightly higher overall favorable rating – 77% - than Perry and Bachmann, but there’s less enthusiasm in his support. Only 21% hold a Very Favorable opinion of him.”

The enthusiasm for both Perry and Bachmann is significantly higher than that of Romney. Enthusiasm is a great motivator in getting people to ACTUALLY vote and NOT just answer a telepoll. I think Romney has “good” recognition, but he won’t generate the excitement necessary to get folks to vote for him.

Also, it looks like to me that this primary may well shape up to be a Perry win...but I think Bachmann man get the VP nod to solidify the party base in a general election. I’m not sure how Sarah Palin entering the race will affect things. I think she will pull more votes away from Perry than Bachmann. However, I am not sure if she can beat Perry now because of his so called appeal to the so called “mainstream” GOP voters. I do believe that if this poll was done with Palin as a declared candidate, that Sarah’s “very favorable” vote would be high. Those that like Sarah, don’t just like her....they love her. She would also generate enthusiasm.

Will not repeat voting for a McCain, again.

What do you mean? McCain is one of the most conservative people in the Senate, for a few months every six years....

“...and now we are hearing her people are going door to door in Iowa bearing false witness on Governor Palin.”

Really? I have been hearing people say that Elvis was abducted by aliens. However, that doesn’t make it so.

My purpose for writing this is not to defend Bachmmann. I just get tired of the ridiculous accusations made by folks at times. Could it be that YOU are bearing “false witness” against Bachmann by repeating hearsay? Indeed it could be so.

It is obvious you are a big supporter of Sarah Palin. Most of us really like Sarah as well. However, we don’t practice scorched earth tactics where if SHE doesn’t get the nomination we won’t vote for any other in the general election. Also, we don’t TRASH other potential candidates for no other REAL motivation than that the person is not Sarah.

I think that is why all the jokes fly around about Palin derangement sydrome. The extreme Palin worship is over the top. Sarah Palin may well be the BEST potential candidate. However, she is NOT to be worshiped like some deity.

Perry might just knock Romney out of this race. It’s not settled or even started yet but If he could get Mitt to drop out early, he’d bump up a notch in my book.

Obviously Rasmussen and Rick Perry have Palin Derangement Syndrome.

Oh, and it’s also obvious that Rick Perry is just a stalking horse for Myth Romney.

It will be Perry/Romney. With Perry you carry all of the south and most of the interior west. With Romney you split the NE and other blue states with Obama.

It would be a 35 to 40 state beat down.

“Garbage poll, because Governor Palin is not in it!”

Is she an announced candidate? No? Then why in hades WOULD she be included?
