ATF promotes supervisors in controversial gun operation
The three, who have been criticized for pushing on with the border weapons sting even as it came apart, receive new management jobs in Washington.

Reporting from Washington The ATF has promoted three key supervisors of a controversial sting operation that allowed firearms to be illegally trafficked across the U.S. border into Mexico.
All three have been heavily criticized for pushing the program forward even as it became apparent that it was out of control. At least 2,000 guns were lost and many turned up at crime scenes in Mexico and two at the killing of a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Arizona.
The three supervisors have been given new management positions at the agency's headquarters in Washington. They are William G. McMahon, who was the ATF's deputy director of operations in the West, where the illegal trafficking program was focused, and William D. Newell and David Voth, both field supervisors who oversaw the program out of the agency's Phoenix office.
McMahon and Newell have acknowledged making serious mistakes in the program, which was dubbed Operation Fast and Furious.

"Internal ATF emails seem to suggest that ATF agents were counseled to highlight a link between criminals and certain semi-automatic weapons in order to bolster a case for a rule like the one the DOJ announced yesterday [Monday]."
Townhall has obtained the email which states "Can you see if these guns were all purchased from the same FfL and at one time. We are looking at anecdotal cases to support a demand letter on long gun multiple sales. Thanks Mark R. Chait Assistant Director Field Operations."
The FBI pulled a really slick one after Ruby Ridge. The two agents in charge (I have forgotten their names) were caught red handed violating FBI procedures and probably the law.
They were both given reprimands. Now a reprimand in your personnel file used to be considered a career killer. Typically anyone getting one would simply resign.
Not these FBI agents tho. A few weeks after getting their reprimands, they were both promoted.
It just got worse under Obastard.
Actually his name was just Friedrich Paulus not von Paulus. I once had a history prof tell us that and sure enough, years later I looked it up and there is no “von” in his name.
Interesting as it is probably stated as von Paulus more often than not.
...The main reason...
...Thanks...
And why not??
The Extra-Constitutionalist Statists running America want people they can TRUST running things. Hitler did the same thing.
ATF along with the DEA needs to be abolished and the WORTHWHILE AMERICANS in either organization - if there are any - re-assigned to the FBI and CIA where they belong.
control by silver of lead, these guys chose the silver
...Hang in, Friend...
Gulags and killing fields are the twinkles in this administrations' eyes. The sooner ordinary citizens wake up to this, the better. What's wrong with Repubs, I wonder. Riding gravy train? On board with the program? Blackmailed because of what they have in their closetses? Eunuchs?
The real problem here isn’t the commie/muslim in the WH and his handlers/assistants/lackeys/string pullers.
The real problem is that the Repubs have little fire to oppose him. That is the problem. Oh, a noise here or there, and Issa appears to be trying to do something. But more or less they’re a bunch of eunuchs. At best.

Next up will be promotions for the FBI supervisors who funded the purchases. Later, the corrupt US Attorney in Phoenix will get a judgeship.
We need a Special Prosecutor to take down the leadership of the BATF, FBI and the “Justice” Dept.
The FBI also blocked prosecution of that murderer Lon Horiuchi. That piece of trash is still walking the streets.
Thanks for the pings. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! When is the next hearing?
>>In todays America, if millions were rounded up for orderly disposal, the authorities would promote those involved.

>Uhhh - arent you assuming that the rounders (pun intended) survived the responses of the roundees?
Consider how opposed people are to the idea of felons {and in some cases only those alleged to be felons} and felons who have served their sentence to being armed.
Now, consider how in 2014 the Obamacare package makes it a felony for one to not have ‘qualifying’ healthcare; with (as I understand) no provisions for lapses when switching providers, and also that the government itself determines what plans ‘qualify.’
Putting two and two together, I wholly anticipate many people to be put into this felon status; probably with the government “generously granting” the right to vote as per its own whims.
> Are you willing to be painted as the next Drega? The next Heemeyer? The next Kaczynski? The next Breivik?
Very good question[s].
All three have been heavily criticized for pushing the program forward even as it became apparent that it was out of control.C'mon now! I thought we were all capitalists here?!? They did what the boss said, and got the promised promotions and raises. /s
Do they work under Lon Horiuchi?
