I suspect they were ordered to do it, and were promoted both as a reward and to help coverup the true extent of the scandal.

What's wrong with Repubs, I wonder. Riding gravy train? On board with the program? Blackmailed because of what they have in their closetses? Eunuchs?

The House can impeach Holder et al. next year. That's the time to do it. 17 rat senators want to get re-elected in 2012.

I like the “et al” impeachment program. The whole shebang.

Bloody photos here of the results of Obama and Holder’s under the radar gun running to narcotrafficantes. Do not click the links if violent photos are offensive and disturb you. The Nice government Men responsible for propagating this violence, selling arms illegally to hardened Mexican narco criminals for the purpose of criminal activity, should be imprisoned.

Pretty much. And prosecutable. If not in THIS admin, then by and in the next. This isn’t going away. They can resort to all the tricks and invent new ones to cover it. But all the threats of race riots are not going to succeed. Bozo and his clowns will eventually pay for his crap in a courtroom. Too many have died and there’s too many people involved...say nothing of Mexico itself.

Wait till they take his admin to “World Court” when he can’t pay them enough to shut up, or pass new freebies through congress to bribe them. Amnesty is the key here. Stop that and fun begins.

Popcorn time.

As soon as I got the first whiff of this scheme, I said to my wife that it was an obvious manufactured pretext for gun control - from Zero’s handlers to Zero, then Holder - the terrorist protectorate.

Your instincts were right; Deputy Attorney General James Cole issued the following statement today regarding information requests for multiple sales of semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines in select states along the Southwest Border:

“The international expansion and increased violence of transnational criminal networks pose a significant threat to the United States. Federal, state and foreign law enforcement agencies have determined that certain types of semi-automatic rifles – greater than .22 caliber and with the ability to accept a detachable magazine – are highly sought after by dangerous drug trafficking organizations and frequently recovered at violent crime scenes near the Southwest Border. This new reporting measure -- tailored to focus only on multiple sales of these types of rifles to the same person within a five-day period -- will improve the ability of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to detect and disrupt the illegal weapons trafficking networks responsible for diverting firearms from lawful commerce to criminals and criminal organizations. These targeted information requests will occur in Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas to help confront the problem of illegal gun trafficking into Mexico and along the Southwest Border.”

Actually his name was just Friedrich Paulus not von Paulus. I once had a history prof tell us that and sure enough, years later I looked it up and there is no “von” in his name.

Interesting as it is probably stated as von Paulus more often than not.

You're absolutely correct, I knew better and should have caught that.

I had the amusing opportunity to correct a military history instructor at a Command and General Staff College officer's course I attended at Ft Leavenworth on the very same point. He didn't find it all that amusing, however.

No "von," no "von und zu." Just "Onkel Frierich."

Now that I think about it, the professor was a Geography prof, not a History one. He was about 6’2” and 240 pounds and sort of had the look of a bulldog.

His lectures were pure boredom and he seemed to glower at everyone. All the students were basically afraid of him.

I had to discuss something one day and stopped by his office. He turned out to be just the opposite in his office, really pleasant and personable. I ended up stopping by regularly and discussing odds and ends.

Colonel Williams had been a B-25 pilot in WW2. He flew reconnaissance missions mostly. Another prof had told us that spy satellites could read the writing on a softball. I didn’t believe him so asked professor Williams.

To my surprise, he said they probably could tho he doubted there would be a need for such fine detail since it would also amount to a very small area. He said he once snapped a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge from over 60 miles away. When the photo was developed and enlarged he said the bridge’s cables were very clear and this was in the early 40’s.

Somehow our discussion wandered to WWII and the Luftwaffe’s attempt to supply the Stalingrad Army by air. That is where I mistakenly called General Paulus, von Paulus, and got corrected.
