The Secret Service has revealed to Talking Points Memo that the government has purchased two armored buses for use by President Barack Obama and Republican candidates in the 2012 presidential campaign and beyond.

Another article I read said that the Secret Service deemed the charter buses they've seen as unsuitable for the security concerns regarding their charges. So, they're buying these buses for use across the board in their protective duties. Less of a big deal than the headline indicates.
