Just donated to perry and bought bumper sticker & yard sign (I am in)

Posted on 08/14/2011 6:43:59 PM PDT by indianrightwinger

I just committed myself 15 mins ago. My first round donation is done. Was always looking for the winnable conservative candidate with extensive executive experience. Between Romney and Perry, choice is clear. Only other possible entrant is Palin and she interested me as a reform minded GOP Governor who was a VP candidate. While she may enter the race and be more to the right of Perry, I am not looking for the "right most" candidate.

Lol, I was just going to post something about the big hair. I’ve heard the saying is the bigger the hair, the closer to God.

FOX NEWS Poll released on Wednesday, August 10, 2011

FOX News Poll: (August 7-9, 2011)

Question 25. Sarah Palin - Do you think this person would make a good president or not?

.................YES.........NO.......DK.....Never heard of

ALL...........19%.......75%.........4%.......1%

Dem ............7%........89%.........3%.......1%

Rep ...........34%.......58%.......7%.......1%

Ind ...........20%........74%.......5%.......1%

Interesting. the independents are the ONLY voters that count ..the base will vote Rep or Dem, either way they are inclined. If you can’t get the Independents, forget it. ....... Recovering Ex-hippie

========================================

You are absolutely correct about the Independents. In the general election, they are the 800 pound gorilla. In order to win, you must attract Independents.

However, do not underestimate the damage that the Holier Than Thou crowd can do to your own side. They do not necessarily line up to "vote Rep or Dem, either way they are inclined".

The Left-wing fanatics out here on the Left Coast believe that even Barack Obama is not Left-wing enough. They believe that everything will be right with the World if Dennis Kucinich is nominated.

How far do you think that a Politically Pure Left-wing candidate like Kucinich will go in a general election outside a Blue State?

Just as far as a Politically Pure Right-wing candidate will go outside a Red State: Straight down the electoral toilet like Christine O'Donnell went in Delaware.

But, the Holier Than Thou crowd will not be denied. If they don't get their way, then they go vote Third Party hoping that the Third Party Fairy will wave her wand and get them their Politically Pure candidate.

The rabid Left-Wingers did that in Florida in 2000 and voted for Nader, because Al Gore was not Left-wing enough for their Perfect sensibilities.

Result in that close election: President George W. Bush.

In a close election in 2012, our Holier Than Thou crowd could very well get us four more years of Barack Hussein Obama.

I am glad to see these are not just random illegals that are busting into the country getting a free ride.

They're anchor babies, damn near as bad. Read the 14th Amendment and see how it has been raped.

I supposed you think these people should be eligible for the presidency as well.

The parents of these young "citizens" are thieves and the are still stealing by having their kids get discounted tuition.

Conservative far smarter than I attest to the fact a third party will be the one thing that elects Obama again. I don't want that blood on my hands.

If the GOP still doesn't get it ... and the establishment continues to push RINO's instead of conservatives ... they deserve to lose. They've thrown the election, not us. I'm fed up with Republicans telling us conservatives to get our "ass in line". We'd be better off letting Obama/Reid/Pelosi destroy the government. Then at least the RINO's would get their "ass in line", probably behind us, as we defend "We the People" in Civil War. Since when did it become We the People's fault? At what point was it decided We should admonished for supporting the right candidate instead of the bought-n-paid for establishment candidate? I'm done holding my nose while I pull the lever.

First, I didn’t insult you, nor did I debate you. I just made a statement that it is strange that you don’t appreciate the benefits of living in Texas. A state who’s benefitted very well from Rick Perry’s leadership.

You say he’s weak? Why’s that? Because he doesn’t stand over you with a hammer and beat you into submission? Rick Perry has too much respect for Texans and our ability to cope for that.

Just like when parents became concerned on the statistics of mandated school immunizations contribute to autism. Rick Perry heard their concern in 2003, helped to write and pushed through legislation that gave parents the right to opt out of ANY immunizations they deemed dangerous to their children. He gave them a one time opt out...sign the form submit it, it’s a done deal. Then the Gardasil deal came up, and the democrats have propgandized that into a mandate for girls to take HPV vaccinations. Which was a lie. He’d already four years before given parents an opt out on ANY immunizations. And there are Freepers on here that STILL are posting the democrapic propaganda that he tried to mandate little girls get a vaccination that could kill them. It’s totally amazing and hilarious to watch.

His leadership in bringing new business into our state is indisputable and not debatable. That record is a fact. And if you think he’s weak, I say bologna. Bringing those businesses into a state whose biggest cities are run by dumb commiecrats and leading them to create an environment for the new business is a skill without measure in my book.

Toyota wanted to bring a plant to Austin that would bring thousands of new jobs. The commiecrats running Austin made so many demands Toyota was ready take it into another state. Rick Perry told Austin, screw you, went down to San Antonio and it took him one meeting to negotiate a deal, and San Antonio said, sure c’mon down, we’ll take those jobs. Of course the commiecrats in Austin started screeching like banshees and tried to play the blame game against Governor Perry and he was having none of it. That’s the kind of quick thinking and action I want to see in the person sitting in our White House.

So I just find your ‘depression’ to be rather strange and your switch and bait statement to merely be propaganda and said so.

I want to defeat Obama, ergo, I'm supporting Perry.

I want to defeat the putrid Washington DC culture, ergo, I'm supporting Palin.

I don’t want that blood on my hands.

Agreed, people need to realize that’s exactly what it will be. BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS.

Ok, sorry to get hysterical there for a moment, but it is true.

NO THIRD PARTIES.

If TR couldn’t get it done, nobody will and that includes Sarah Palin and Ron Paul and anybody else you’d care to name.

Oh really? I don’t think so. Do you think sweeping the problem under the rug will help? I don’t. It will only fester until it burst. They need to go home and immigration like everything needs to be disinfected in Congress and elsewhere. They will keep doing the same thing.

I think you're referring to me and I would love a discussion about it, but there are clearly freaks out tonight that cannot handle a rational conversation/discussion. I simply wonder if it is better to rip off the band-aid. Even though a third party vote puts obama back in the White House, I want to fight the second American Revolution so that my kids don't have to fight it. They will have to fight it if I vote for a RINO, because the Republican party is simply driving us toward socialism at a slower speed than the Democrat party.

I was referring to our earlier post. It was a continuation of what we were discussing on 152. My bad for leaving you of the cc; line in that follow up.

To touch on that briefly, I think that your idea has something to it. I'm not a third party guy, and never have been, but you're right about how we shouldn't be leaving problems to our kids. If there's a way to proactively deal with our problems without just dumping a crappy future on them, it's worth exploring. Lots of options out there, and lots of possible futures. Doesn't hurt to think them through.

Anyway, keep your head down and your ammo dry. ;-) It is a little tense here tonight.

If he’s the nominee, I’m going third party. :(

Then, you have no right to complain about anything Obama does for four more years, including the Supreme Court justices he'll appoint that will be on the bench 30 years.

Perry is no more a RINO than Ronald Reagan was. Micheal Reagan, in fact, has said he is the candidate that most resembles his father ideologically.

Agree with you on that, Perry is not my choice in a perfect world, but right now we gotta get zippy out and I really think Perry can mop the floor with him.

If we had a good solid conservative 4 years ago Obama would probably be a foot note in the history books

Not so sure about that, just how the primaries went....something was rigged along the way. McCain should have never gotten where he did....then he handed it right over to Obama with his seal of approval.

There's alot of guesswork going on with Perry as far as people not actually knowing him....people aren't sure where he stands...and that with reason even if they don't know it yet.

We know who the conservatives are. I will not vote for another RHINO...it'll be a slow death to America for that...and we cannot afford the "compromises" he will make.
