Just donated to perry and bought bumper sticker & yard sign (I am in)

Posted on 08/14/2011 6:43:59 PM PDT by indianrightwinger

I just committed myself 15 mins ago. My first round donation is done. Was always looking for the winnable conservative candidate with extensive executive experience. Between Romney and Perry, choice is clear. Only other possible entrant is Palin and she interested me as a reform minded GOP Governor who was a VP candidate. While she may enter the race and be more to the right of Perry, I am not looking for the "right most" candidate.

well put..of course, and I agree with you.

Mass deprltations of illegals will not work..we need to enforce the laws we have and secure the border and stop giving illegals welfare...Then they will self deport and those that remain will help our economy.

Really? You appear both crass and pointless to me.

One strives for perfection, though he or she should know that the standard is unattainable. I strive for patience, but alas, I fall short in dealing with the asinine. I simply cannot do it anymore. YOU fit the bill simply because you are too ignorant or lazy for rational debate.

If the parents were illegal, so are the kids, and we need to stop patronizing the culture breakers that try to confer citizenship on these infiltrators.

The constitution says they are not citizens, so stop saying that they are.

You are incorrect if you don’t include those Independents..that’s the only group that decides an election and “winnable” is who the Independents want.

Hey, in Texas you can “get religion” with your last breath, and the Lord has to let you in. Religion is like paper towels in Texas.

Interesting.

the independents are the ONLY voters that count ..the base will vote Rep or Dem, either way they are inclined.

If you can’t get the Independents, forget it.

It’s too early for that. You’re going to become over committed to one candidate. If he doesn’t get the nomination, you’re going to become...unmotivated. It’s better to wait until someone is picked before you spend money IMHO.

>> Rick Perry is trying to to be diplomatic here. Everyone knows the Bush's backed Kay Bailey against him in 2010, so there is obviously bad blood. <<

Alot of us would say the same thing about Palin vouching for Perry's "conservative" credentials. The "Sarah Palin endorsement" that Perry fans endlessly hype was when Perry was running against a 9/11 truther and a touchy-feely Washington insider. Perry was the best choice of that putrid crop. Sarah Palin endorsed him given the alternatives, alot of us did. That doesn't make him the best choice for President or the second coming of Reagan.

>> "Let me share something with you. George Bush was never a fiscal conservative. Never was. Wasn't when he was in Texas," Perry told a gathering of Republicans. A true statement and pretty direct condemnation of Bush. <<

Let me share something with you, Longbow1969. Rick Perry was never a fiscal conservative. Never was. Isn't when he was is in Texas, won't be if he goes to D.C. "Limited Governor" Rick Perry doubled Texas' state debt. He doubled the state budget from $49 billion to $91 billion (by comparison, the state population grew by 25% in that time). His words mean nothing. If you look at his ACTUAL policies, he differs little from GWB. "Better than Obama" is one thing if he was the nominee, but that won't cut it in the primary. Screaming that we're all "purists" because we don't want a mediocre candidate like Perry isn't swaying any freepers to your side.

Has anyone seen Señor Perry’s birth certificate? Just axing. The last “Rick” in public life I recall was Ricky Ricardo, and he had been born in Cuba. Señor Perry speaks with a visible accent and also speaks fluent Spanish. ‘Perry’ sounds awfully close to Perrino, and Perry Como was Italian, wasn’t he? All of it adds up to highly suspicious. As I’ve been telling my children, one cannot be too careful.

...so to summarize; I have been on this website for thirteen years, and have received more insults in one night than those previous thirteen years put together. Insults, not from the vile communist left, but from supporters of the Christian conservative Rick Perry. From people of faith, no less.

Stay classy, and have a good evening.

perhaps someone could explain why Sarah quit after having served half her term as Gov.

Ahah, you have fun with this.

Long story short, she was being harassed by liberal activists. She chose her state and her family over her career. Probably not the right move if you value your career, but probably a good move for her state and family. Make of that what you will.

Keep in mind that people jumped on John Kerry because he did not finish his contract with the Navy, even though he had what in my opinion was a sorta kinda halfway reasonable excuse.

I don't know if you're just too young to know this, but Kerry finsihed his contract with the Navy, because his friends in the Kennedy clan pulled strings with the Department of the Navy. What you're probably referring to is how he left Vietnam early due to receiving the equivalent of three paper cuts. Most people with three Purple Hearts have three corresponding injuries. With scars. Missing limbs. Bob Dole was shot in the arm, basically lost the use of it. One Purple Heart. Some people get killed. One Purple Heart. Kerry has no visible injuries from any of his three (3) crippling wounds. Not so much as a paint scuff. Amazing!

Kerry, furthermore, is a traitorous, seditious bastard who intentionally lied about his embarrassingly short service for political gain. Gain which he used in the most self-beneficial way possible. He should be in prison, deported, or fired. Preferably from a cannon. Into a brick wall.

If you're like 15 and really don't know this, then consider your education beginning, and thank you for the question.

TEXANS FOR PERRY 2012!!!

DRey, That’s how I see it. You get a few here who either are or claim to be from Texas who make a concerted effort to diss Rick Perry, but we all keep voting him right back in by leaps and bounds. We have a great state run with conservative principles and have a pro business / pro growth environment that has driven businesses, corporations, and jobs our way. We have freedom to display our Christian faith in this state; public school teachers display Christian taglines on their emails; you can even hear stores and radios playing Christian radio stations. This is a Right to Work state... unions have no hold here. Rick Perry signed the cut, cap and balance bill on the state level here and has been following that while our Senate would not even vote on it.

I can’t even tell you how many people from other parts of the country have told me they wished they could move to Texas.

Despite a few who talk here on FR, MANY here in Texas love our Texas governor, Governor Rick Perry, and that includes a lot of conservative Texans for that matter.

Knock it off, Bucaneer..!

Palin leaving the governor position is a big detriment in winning the presidency.THAt is just reality for anyone that is not a Palin fan...I like Palin, but her negatives will not work with the independents..and THAT’s who counts.
