Just donated to perry and bought bumper sticker & yard sign (I am in)

Posted on 08/14/2011 6:43:59 PM PDT by indianrightwinger

I just committed myself 15 mins ago. My first round donation is done. Was always looking for the winnable conservative candidate with extensive executive experience. Between Romney and Perry, choice is clear. Only other possible entrant is Palin and she interested me as a reform minded GOP Governor who was a VP candidate. While she may enter the race and be more to the right of Perry, I am not looking for the "right most" candidate.

That's okay, I'm not sure where sll these Perry fans are finding these "independents" who love Perry and these liberal blogs who "fear" a Perry candidacy. It's Texas, a wet paper bag could get elected statewide there if it had an "R" next to its name. Perry was struggling to get 50% of the vote for Lt. Governor in the same election when George W. Bush was elected Governor by a nearly 70% landslide. The only thing Perry has proven is he can barely win over Republicans in a safe Republican state.

Another vote for Obama. He’s piling them up here on the board the past couple days.

People are really tired of that old tune...we heard it in 2008, 2004, 2000...it's boring. Vote for our guy because the other one is worse? Is that all you've got?

I hate to break the news to you, evil, but, since Jesus Christ never ran for political office, that has been the case of every election in all of recorded History.

One imperfect candidate was always worse than another imperfect candidate. The individual that is not a complete fool strives to ensure that the candidate that is the most hurtful does not achieve victory.

The Left-wingers in Florida who threw away their votes by voting for Ralph Nader in 2000, because Al Gore was just not Left-wing enough for them, put George W. Bush in the White House and we thank them for being such fools.

If 2012 is a close election and Barack Hussein Obama is reelected because of Third Party fools, the Marxists will be thanking you.

Who do you want, evil?

Is it that Perfect Candidate that can do all things in your fantasy world but, on the Planet Earth, absolutely guarantees the reelection of Barack Hussein Obama?

Didn’t we do pretty much this eleven years ago?

Sure, but tell me something, how safe do you feel? Personally I felt better at night when there was a Texan sitting in that office with his shitkickers on, a pinch of Copenhagen in his lip and an absolute will to unleash the full power of the US Military on any POS that wants to "make a statement" on us or Israel.

Read up: http://peskytruth.wordpress.com/2011/07/19/rick-perrys-negatives/ not all is as it appears.

“Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.” ..... Ecclesiastes 11:4 (New Living Translation, 2007)

What's your point? Did I say I was waiting for 'perfect weather (candidate)? I was just asking you if your 'vote for my guy because the other is guy is worse?' argument was all you had.

You've answered it. Have a good evening.

>> Perry has a history of not getting along well with the Bush's. In fact he's been feuding with them and Karl Rove for years. <<

Rick Perry himself refutes this claim:

Perry on his predecessor: 'I love George Bush'
"I love George Bush. I think he's a great President and I support him," Perry said in the interview. The question is still coming up to this day. Not whether he's running for president. But whether he's running from George W. Bush. "Actually I called him on his birthday," Perry said to Time Magazine, fondly remembering a chat he had with the former President last month. Perry insisted there's no bad blood with the man he replaced. "Not from my perspective. And certainly not between George W. Bush and I," Perry said.

Can anyone around here READ??? Where the hell did I say ANYTHING about a perfect candidate? My point is this:

"You want me to vote for YOUR candidate because the other one is worse? Is that ALL you've got?"

Is that your ONLY selling point? No wonder this country is screwed.

“Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.”

During the primaries, the focus should be on the perfect, not the good. It isn't until the general election that the perfect becomes the enemy of the good. Why do you think we got so many TEA party candidates elected? Sheeesh!

You mean the Bushes who backed Kay Bailey Hutchinson against Rick Perry in his Governor’s race? The same Kay who refuses to endorse Perry now in his Presidential run?

Sure looks like he’s in real cozy with them.

Garsh, it’s a shame you don’t appreciate the nice economy, less taxes, and affordable housing most of we Texans enjoy. How’d you like to live in Illinois and pay 11% sales taxes, a state income tax that just went up, and have to pay $425,000 for a 1940’s ranch style dump?

If you continue to drink the democrapic lies and propaganda about Rick Perry, your depression belongs to you.

Lol, I'm a ma'am not a sir. That's okay, many FReepers see my handle and assume I'm male. I'm a Palin fan, but if she doesn't run it's either Perry or Bachmann for me. Right now I'm leaning toward Bachmann. I don't know that much yet about Perry. My concern is that there is all this tough talk about what they are going to do, like repeal obamacare, and then when they get to the position claim that it's just impossible because of blah, blah, blah.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm sick of politicians. I want real people like me in office. I want somebody that has had to put something they want back on the store shelf because there wasn't enough money in the weekly budget for it. I want someone who has scoured adds to see who has the least expensive generic diapers, because let's face it they catch poop just as good as the name brand. I want someone who's spouse has been called into work at 3 am. I want someone who has potty trained a child, instead of having the help do that for them. I want somebody who has put themselves through college with cash. I want someone who has bought a used car at least once in their life. I'm sure I'm asking for far too much from today's pols.

Texas created 40% of the nation’s new jobs.

So? How does that help the people in the other 49 states? I am no fan of New Hampshire, but the state unemployment rate is just under 5%. But that doesn't help anyone outside the state...

That bunch was even worse, but there were some striking similarities...Bush then, Perry now. Keyes then, Cain now. Buchanan then, Paul now. Hatch then, Huntsman now. Forbes then, Romney now. Alexander then, Pawlenty now. Smith then, Santorum now. Quayle then, Gingrich now. Kasich then, McCotter now.

I am astounded that those against a Third Party are for just more of the same GOP. Yeah. That’s REALLY done well for us. We finally get a little power in the House and now we are supposed to cave to the demands of the GOP “Leadership”? Fine. You do so. I am not.

Voting 3rd party had NOTHING to do with the "little power" we have in the House. Just the opposite actually. It was by voting in the Republican primaries for the most conservative candidates we could find that could actually win is how we got that power in the first place. Your argument is just silly and completely wrongheaded.

Look, there will always be dunderheads that waste their votes on 3rd party's. If it makes you feel good, more power to you. Just know by doing so, you effectively accomplish nothing, influence no one and make exactly zero impact on the political system. You are effectively flushing your vote down the toilet.
