London: Tensions between Britain's government and police leaders flared Saturday over Prime Minister David Cameron's recruitment of a veteran American police commander to advise him on how to combat gangs and prevent a repeat of the past week's riots.

The criticism, led by Association of Chief Police Officers leader Sir Hugh Orde, underscored deep tensions between police and Cameron's coalition government over who was most to blame for the failure to stop the four-day rioting that raged in parts of London and other English cities until Wednesday.

Cameron criticized police tactics as too timid and announced he would seek policy guidance from William Bratton, former commander of police forces in Boston, New York and Los Angeles..

One of these two isn't the same.

One is a straight up faggot. The other is a common sense leader.

Not quite.

My Gramma would be the best choice.

She once beat up a neighbor for accusing her of buying her kids candy with church money.

Boy, was she sorry after Gramma got through with her!

"America polices by force. We don't want to do that in this country"

We can see that.

I'm not sure I would call this a slam, but how is this something that you can 'slam' anyway? It's just advice; if you don't like what you hear from Bratton, don't implement it. Of course it's all public relations nonsense anyway.

Yes, law enforcement is so tedious. Better to just let the yobs and the droogs run loose in the streets looting, robbing, raping, burning and killing.

The most telling part was the reporter’s account and tip-toe about how tough the British cops are toward the unfortunate Muslim deaths. Not to say those weren’t awful, but the total appeasement of the PC reporter is beyond words...the same rioting/raping/drugging/killing “militants” would have had every excuse in the book for their actions...

The British are F*ed, 100%.

The Brit Army took their policing strategeries to Iraq where they didn’t work well either.

Maybe if they implemented the “fluffy pillow” or “comfy chair” techniques they would get better results. They may also want to do more training on what to do if you are attacked by a person wielding a banana as well.

"America polices by force. We don't want to do that in this country"

An Epitaph for English Civilization, if ever there was one.

And Oh My Brothers, at least we know what's become of constable Paul Deller's yarbles, do we not?

"America polices by force. We don't want to do that in this country," said Paul Deller of the Metropolitan Police Federation

All policing involves at least the implied use of force to keep order. It's impossible to police any other way.

Police in London were continuing to interrogate several suspects linked to the riots' two other killings: of a 26-year-old man shot to death in a car after a high-speed chase involving a rival group of men, and a 68-year-old loner, who was beaten to death after arguing with rioters and trying to extinguish a fire they had set.

Oh, a loner. In the great collective that England has become, I suppose this is the greatest criminal of them all.

Well, at least they see a solution to combating future riots: increase the number of impotent security bureaucrats on the payroll. That should do it.

It appears that England need look no further than the Manchester PD to learn how to quell a riot.

They need a particular Frenchman.

William the Bastard of Normandy. Very adept at dealing with fractious English.
