He burned himself out last election. He's lucky he still is a Senator.Herman Cain ran in 2004 for the US Senate but lost. You are talking about John McCain, different persons, and different names

Sarah Palin will be the next Senator from Arizona or Secretary of State. Palin, Secretary of State, wouldn’t that be a hoot?

Good analysis, Steel Wolf. Sadly, Perry is the new Romney. MSM, GOP establishment, CFR approved, wait, he's now pro-life. He's now ...
How long before he's an msm TEA party frontrunner? I'd give it a week or so.

Sorry folks, means nothing at all really! Once Gov Palin announces in Sept all the Straw poll winners will only be a memory. Bachmann onlt beat Paul by 200 votes or less??? That`s the best she could do???
However the MSM is going to retake Bachmann under their arm (short term) AGAIN. Only as a way to hopefully do away with Gov Palin..THEY HOPE
You will start to see other pollsters drop Gov Palin from their phony polls in an attempt to prop up Bachmann.
But it will not work, it is almost Sept and Gov Palin will be running very soon, so enjoy your party it while it lasts, it will be very brief!

Perry, as a write-in candidate beat Romney. And, that Perry had 781 write-in votes and wasn't in the state compared to less than 35 for Sarah Palin, who was in Iowa, is bad news for her.
To: dfwgator
Curious what the breakdown was on this poll four years ago. Also curious who won Iowa in the GOP primary.

All that fuss for fewer than 17K votes ? It's opening day, when everybody is in first place.

This “straw poll” is part of the Iowa State Fair sideshow.
FYI- the Straw Poll is about 30 miles north of the state fair which makes it more impressive to get people to come out on a Saturday.

David Gregory is very impressed with Bachmann! We will see the MSM try once again to carry Bachmann for the short term. They really believe if they can prop her up in their polls for another month or so while leaving Gov Palin out of them, they might finally be rid of the one they most fear...Gov Palin.
They are going to be in for a rude awakening. Hey I will let the Bachmann supporters have their joint celebration with the LSM/Rep Establishment, it will be very short!

In all honesty, given that she bought the Huckster's old Iowa organization and she is a “favorite daughter” in Iowa, she probably should have done better.

If had been in that room voting for the candidates on the ballot I would have voted for Bachmann, especially after that exchange with Tim Pawlenty Thursday night.
Sarah is my one and only candidate who I see as authentically outside of politics, but Bachmann has risen a notch in my estimation.
I think guys like Perry and Santorum are definitely establishment backed splitters to help the annointed Romney win.
Here in PA I saw Rick endorsing Arlen Specter over and over again, not just for Senator, but for president in 1996.
In 2004, Santorum flew all the way to Alaska to twist arms for Lisa Murkowski in a GOP Senate primary..
That’s the real Santorum I know.

Iowa has Paul 2nd. Iowa people are idiots.
Same people that voted for Alan Keyes.
Now go back to making ethanol and don't drink any of it this time.
