A new Washington Post poll finds, among other things, that a full 70 percent of Americans either believe Barack Obama has "tried but failed" to solve "the major problems facing the country" or has actually "made problems worse."

Yet in analyzing the polling data, Post staffers Jon Cohen and Dan Balz buried bad news for the president deep in their page A1 August 11 article.

Link to the actual WP poll

Actually, the number is not 70%, it's 77%, if you include: "tried but failed", "didn't address", and "made things worse".

See Q. 6:

6. Thinking about the major problems facing the country, would you say Obama has made progress toward solving these problems, tried but failed to solve these problems, not addressed these problems, or has made these problems even worse?

Made progress: 19%

Tried but failed: 42%

Not addressed: 7%

Made problems worse: 28%

No opinion: 4%

The real number is that only 19% believe he’s actually accomplished anything.

I could have told the dumbass that communism won’t work in America. It has never worked anywhere except at the end of the barrel of a gun.

This will be something pleasant Obummer can ruminate over while he is sampling Ice Cream flavors on the Vineyard. He is a total failure and loser.

If 77% of the American people think he has failed and "the machine" somehow gets him reelected, then it's time for phase II because the will of the majority of the American people was ignored. Tyranny forces us to react. . .

Half the population falls on the left-hand side of the bell curve... Only 23% thinking Obama has made things better is pretty exceptional - or devastating - depending on your point of view...

It boild down to: a division between Obama’s supporters right or wrong, and his opponents, right or wrong, and those who are simply confused . The last think he has screwed up, but is a nice guy, nonetheless. The next step is to provide a choice, to find a trustworthy opponent.

Hey all,

Break that 19% down further. If twinkletoes has 19% thinking he did something then he lost a significant percentage of Black, Other than black minority and lib support.

That figure is UNDER his supposed minimum/rather die than abandon him number by a good amount...

They “are” abandoning him!

Actually the “delusional marxist fools” have achieved much of of what they set out to do, except that so far, they have not succeeded in pinning the blame on the Republicans.

They have indeed, but can they hold it? Not if these numbers continue. Real question though is can we come back from it?

Then why do polls show him running almost neak-and-neck with a generic Republican and well ahead of some others?

Name recognition is the biggest thing.

Bush Sr. was running well ahead of Democrat candidates at this point in his Presidency too, and we all know how that turned out.
