Sarah Palin to Re-Launch Bus Tour in Iowa Tomorrow
abcnews.com ^ | August 10, 2011

ABC News has confirmed that Sarah Palin will re-launch her “One Nation” bus tour in Iowa tomorrow, the same day that Republican presidential contenders will take the stage for a debate in Ames, Iowa.

[...]

A SarahPAC fundraising email obtained by ABC News details the former Alaska governor’s plans to “meet folks at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines this week.”

“The heartland is perfect territory for more of the One Nation Tour as we put forth efforts to revitalize the fundamental restoration of America by highlighting our nation's heart, history, and founding principles,” Palin writes in the email. “State fairs hold a special place in our nation's history and heritage, so my family is honored to highlight one of them on one stop along the One Nation Tour route - America's historic Iowa State Fair! (I'm also excited to try some of that famous fried butter-on-a-stick, fried cheesecake-on-a-stick, fried twinkies, etc. I'll enjoy them in honor of those who'd rather make us just ‘eat our peas!’)”

A source with knowledge of the trip told ABC News that plans for an Iowa visit have been in place since at least Tuesday. As of this morning, only about four people besides Palin knew about the trip. The source also said that a handful of Iowa GOP members and elected officials were notified about the trip minutes before the SarahPAC email went out.

[...]

This isn’t Palin’s only planned visit to the crucial election state. Late last month, she announced she’d give a keynote address at an Iowa tea party rally over Labor Day weekend.

Secondarily, she will love to rain on Zero’s own bus tour over the same general terrain. It’s a two-fer. LOL.

Agreed. Yesterday in a post after Obama's announcement I speculated that Sarah would restart her bus tour just to get under his skin. It would be great if she outdrew him in crowd size, especially because he will no doubt be busing union thugs across state lines to fill his events.

Ping. I was struck by the part about how closely held this info was ‘til this afternoon. The lady can keep a secret.

Al B...

Ditto that man, how did they ship it from Alaska, or are they stagging it in some state under-raps or are they towing it under-wraps or do they remove the stickers to keep the project "Stealth".

Whatever the answer is, I can't wait until she sends the B-2's after Wackadinajob he will never know what hit him...

re: “Oh, how I wish she were participating in the Fox debate,”

I think it is better for her to wait to enter the debates until there are fewer involved. There will be eight in Iowa. None will get a chance to say much. There is never much of substance debated until the roster gets down to no more than 4 or 5. Although, with Bret B, this one should be pretty substantive.
OTOH, I’m anxious too, Onyx. ;)

I wish she'd make it the same time O’Bumbles makes HIS bus tour out in the heartland. It would be such fun to see her draw the crowds AND the media - away form his campaign tour -

That would put a big dent in the narcissists ego...

She waited until Obama’s numbers hit the low 40’s, high 30’s, then she’s going to shred him apart and put him on the defensive and make him stutter and stammer and make a million excuses and blame everyone for the state of the economy, except himself.

On the radio the other day they were saying it was Bush's fault! ;-)

The NTSB would probably suddenly discover the need to impound her bus for a couple months over "roadworthiness concerns". ;-)
