The White House announced a strategy to help police, schools and other local organizations counter the threat of domestic radicalism, a broad plan involving federal departments not usually associated with national security.
The effort is modeled on anti-gang initiatives developed in the 1990s and programs intended to prevent school shootings like the tragedy at Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999.
Although short on details, the eight-page outline for the first time called on all parts of the U.S. government, including the departments of Education and Health and Human Services, to devise ways to help communities identify extremist agendas that could lead to violence.
Wednesday's announcement came a week after the arrest of U.S. soldier Naser Jason Abdo in Killeen, Texas. Abdo was charged with possessing an unregistered destructive device after a gun store clerk tipped police that he had behaved oddly while buying gunpowder. Abdo planned to blow up a restaurant frequented by soldiers stationed at nearby Ft. Hood, authorities said.
At his arraignment, Abdo yelled out the name of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist who is accused of killing 13 people and wounding 32 during a 2009 shooting rampage at Ft. Hood.
Congressional investigations into the Ft. Hood shootings revealed warning signs that could have tipped off authorities.
Intelligence reports indicate that Al Qaeda has tried to recruit Americans to launch attacks on U.S. soil.
Thirty-one American citizens or permanent residents were arrested between May 2009 and July 2011 in connection with homegrown terrorism plots, according to the Congressional Research Service. Those arrests within a two-year period contrast with 21 such arrests in the previous seven years.

Folks, this is not new. This is phase 2 or 3 in the brainwashing of the masses campaign. Now they are targeting schools. Gee, does that mean when the kids go back to school there is going to be a Homeland Security Class? Consider that for just one moment in time.
What does that class look like? What is the course directives from the unionized teachers? Is this the class where they start teaching the kids to "spy and tattle" on the adults in their lives?
Wasn't it Mao who had the children bring their parents to school/public stages and announce their crimes to all of society? And I do use Mao on purpose for this question. Mao is admired by this group of progressives. Mao did what he did to break the Chinese spirit during the cultural revolution.

As Rep. Peter King (R-NY) led his latest hearing about the radicalization of Muslims in the United States last week, it turns out a radical of a different sort, based in Brooklyn, was plotting to spread his anti-Muslim message across the United States.
Meaning they’re coming after the Tea Party for one.
What it will be is a nationwide effort of making Americans believe that they will get rich by being their neighbors snitches.
And Obama would gladly spend billions just throwing out the cash for anyone anytime anywhere to call in anything suspicious or what is vied as counter to the ideology of what Obama wishes America to become.
That is the root of it all an ideology, make the people believe they will have a job as informers.
This will be the job creation network, a nation of paid political informers. What we are held accountable for is just how much we want to preserve our proper ideology, the ideolgy of everything that built America and what made it strong, not the failed Marxist “change”.
We shall fight for kicking out the Marxists in America, its due time to confront them openly.
Unfortunately, this won’t involve looking at anybody who is muslim...
