A person who discards his/her principles for expediency is obviously not principled in the first place.

Well....that's exactly what's happening....this isn't about the debt or stopping the spending...the numbers aren't there. This is all about Bo positioning himself for his run...and Bohener and the Republicans "folded" when they had all the cards in their hand. Now why did they do so?

If people think this had to do with the fake "debt threat" they have their head in the sand. We take in over $220 billion in revenues every month and our debt service is only roughly $20 billion. .... The only way we will default is if Bo makes the irresponsible choice not to pay our debts....Boehner and the others said it was too "risky" Bo might do that....so the boogie man "Boos" and Boehner put his tail between his legs in fear of the big bad wolf.

I find it very interesting that even China sees our politicians as being irresponsible and doing this for political advantage at the expense of the citizens. Now doesn't that just beat all when a communist country can call out our congress and Pres. as they did...and be RIGHT! Yet still we have people who don't get it.

What our Tea Party elected Congress needs to do is JUST SAY NO...... Make the Demonrats and RINOs solely responsible and defeat them all next year in primaries and elections ......but NOBODY survives politically, particularly the ruling class GOP surrendermonkeys if they vote to raise the debt limit by even one red cent............ If every GOP Congressman stands in solidarity and votes NO, then we win. It is just that simple

That's right! ....If the current bill is passed and the debt limit is increased by... $2.4 trillion,.... the two largest debt-limit increases in U.S. history would come in back-to-back years, both during Bo's watch.....and this on top of the already $2. something trillion spending they're already running thru their hands!

The Tea Party IS having more of an impact then most might think....Biden's comment says it all!

Biden....." We have negotiated with terrorists,” .."This small group of terrorists HAVE MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SPEND ANY MONEY!!!!!!

Love it!

If I ever find treasonweasels on my side, I will double check my premises. Who CAN that reference???

Proud to be as "clueless" as Rush. Sean, Mark Levin, Michael Savage, and Jim Robinson and to be on the opposite side from Cowards like Boehner, McConnell, the trust fund babies, Muffie, Skipper, the Junior League, the polo set and YOU! I can well understand that you are scared by people with backbone. Go join weepy Boehner and gave a good cry in advance of what is going to happen to your surrendermonkeys next year.

What IS your excuse for posting on a conservative website? Have you noticed that you are quite justly in a tiny and rejected minority here?

Other than in your hallucinations and weepy Boehners, there was something wrong with Braveheart???? My only problem with Braveheart is that he failed to kill Longshanks and that he made the terrible choice to try to trust Longshanks. He did a dandy job of sending a lot of Brit invaders to the opposite of the Promised Land where they were later joined by Banistre Tarleton. Think of Longshanks as an early version of Comrade O, Boehner and McConnell all rolled into one evil.

In 1976, I was a Reagan state chairman when he bucked Boehner's predecessor, Feckless Ford. You weren't. If you were around then, you were probably too busy calculating how much Feckless Ford support might somehow benefit your portfolio. Your supine support for the ruling class RINOs is the sort of thing that gives the GOP the bad name it has suffered since Herbert Hoover. If I ever do need ammo, I will know how to use it and do so without crawling into a fetal position and whimpering like you and the other RINOs. Never ate a sardine in my life and not about to start now.

Just remember that there is a thee and there is a me but there is not and never will be a me. That also goes for Sniffles Boehner and McConnell.

For decades, we have been spending our movement's political capital almost exclusively on cuddling the big shots and protecting them from taxes. Allegedly this is so that they can create jobs for the rest of our citizens. I bet you are as familiar as I am with how badly that has worked out. The same coddled and cuddled zillionaires then send American jobs to Red China by the millions to take advantage of slave labor. We are becoming a Third World nation and that does not trouble the Boehners and the McConnells so long as the payoffs keep coming.

I care a lot less about whether there is a tax hike for the zillionaires hidden in the bill than I do about a lot of other things. Why is class warfare only a one way street favoring the pampered at the expense of the rest of us. If they make scads of money, that's great and I do not begrudge it to them but I think that there are a LOT of other neglected priorities of the conservative movement due to the single-minded mania of the Boehners and McConnells in servicing the rich.

1. These quislings (Boehner, McConnell and their allegedly Republican dupes) are giving Comrade O a $2.4 trillion taxpayer provided slush fund in time for his re-election run. IF he is re-elected, he will be able to take out SCOTUS. Bye, bye guns! Bye bye babies! Bye bye marriage as we know it.

2. As the talk show hosts and a handful in Congress have consistently pointed out, existing law provides that budgeting will add 7-8% per year to the previous year's spending level. That includes the near $trillion porkulus bill as a now permanent part of the baseline for budgeting purposes. The money may be spent in other ways but it will be spent. Money issues usually make my eyes glaze over and I normally have little passion for them but under Comrade O ably assisted by the GOP leadership surrendermonkeys, things have gotten completely out of hand. Under that existing baseline budgeting LAW, there are absolutely NO CUTS in spending. Just an irrelevant touch-up taking a miniscule amount off the massive spending increases and the addition of the interest on yet another $2.5 trillion in slush funds for the reds. That is, at best, a crap sandwich and has no chance whatsoever of being anything better.

3. Under John F. Kennedy's last budget (in peacetime), the level of spending was $100 billion but 60% was for defense. Even with two wars from the Bush and several new ones under Comrade O, we are not spending 25% of the fedbudget on defense and Comrade O will probably want to tell the military to run bake sales to buy ammunition. Today we are soon heading for 40 times that in nominal dollars. In fairness, I think Social Security was not included in the budget numbers until later but it was not that expensive either. OTOH, despite the ocean of spending, there has been no COLA increase in Social Security to individual recipients for the last two years. Comrade O has redefined cost of living conveniently NOT to include food and gasoline prices, you see. No sense wasting valuable gummint resources on the mostly white old folks (there, I said it!). ACORN has not suffered proportionately nor the EPA, the Edumakashun Department, nor the welfare schemes.

4. This crap sandwich also sets up some vague scheme to make further "cuts" in spending growth but fully half must come out of defense spending. This does not bother Boehner, McConnell, Cantor, Kyl and many more frauds so long as the zillionaires continue to be coddled. Until Comrade O is safely re-elected to finish ruining our country, they will not be cranking up the taxes on Americans of modest incomes, just gasoline prices and taxes, heating fuel and taxes and the indirect costs of commie environmental whackoism and stuff like that.

5. I really don't care what the commies say or purport to "think" about us. It makes no difference whether the commies are in gummint, the Demonrat Party, the Lamestream Media, university faculties or the gummint primary and secondary skewel system.

6. NOTHING about this sellout is anything remotely approaching a gain for our side, incremental or otherwise. Hey, we give Comrade O a $2.5 trillion slush fund to scatter around in election year, but, don't complain, he left us a dime as a tip for funding his re-election and our destruction.

7. But, hey, how do I REALLY FEEL?????

It’s obvious that you’re trying to define me as something I am not. I’m not a RINO supporter - nor have I ever written ONE WORD that suggests I am. I am a realist, however. I’m repeating myself... but the reality of the situation is that we do not have the type of power or influence YET that is going to turn this ship around. I’m sure you’ll disagree because of your inaccurate conclusion of who/what I am, but I want a house cleaning and extermination of RINOs just as much as you. It’s not going to happen today. It’s not going to happen tomorrow. I’m focused on 2012. Did you notice how lopsided the vote in the House was? It wasn’t even close. No amount of chest pounding, name calling, or screaming from a mountain top was going to change the outcome. There is a grassroots solution to the infection in DC - at this point in time, however, we can’t win the war. Thinking we can actually win NOW is your Pixie Dust delusion.

For the record, I was two years old in 1976.

I don’t particularly care what you think of me or what you call me. More than anything, it’s clear you just want to fight with me. Knock yourself out, Chief. In the meantime, you incorrectly label me as a fetal position type of guy. Whatever — why just be wrong when you can be wrong, ridiculous, AND extreme?? The reality is I’m very much enjoying the newest member of my growing ‘family’ — a beautiful 9mm Walther PPS. Between that and the 1000 rounds of ammo I just picked up, my wife, 5 children, and I are well prepared for anything that comes our way.

I was looking at the actual bill and found the following increases enumerated in it. I also found the debt increase for this year, alone, can be $1.8 trillion. The following table shows the ADDITIONAL spending authorized in the bill for each year.

In $ Trillions 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021
Total $1,936 $2,107 $2,319 $2,570 $2,668 $2,854 $2,899 $2,945 $2,992 $3,039
Social Security $623 $751 $924 $1,123 $1,166 $1,309 $1,309 $1,309 $1,309 $1,309
Health and Human Services $270 $299 $329 $361 $395 $414 $434 $454 $475 $496
Discretionary Spending $1,043 $1,057 $1,066 $1,086 $1,107 $1,131 $1,156 $1,182 $1,208 $1,234

Okay, you’ve really intrigued me with your recent posts. You are certainly passionate on this topic. I’d like to respond to what I see as some of the more significant points. We clearly have the same objective but also differing views on how to “get there”.

Comrade O … IF he is re-elected … Bye, bye guns! babies! marriage as we know it.

Exactly. This is properly Point #1. This is Armageddon. This is so bad I’m even willing to accept a terrible compromise debt ceiling bill IF it puts the cause to oust the hostile occupier of the Oval Office in a better position (this is debatable but IMHO it does put us in a better position to win the Big War in 2012) to win in 2012.

… there are absolutely NO CUTS in spending … vague scheme to make further "cuts" in spending growth …

Yea, DC sucks. Reducing expenditure increases from 7-8% to something a little bit lower is NOT cuts. However, part of the calculation of “default” by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government does look at this idiotic budgeting scheme as cuts so it achieves a goal of helping rather than hurting the economy. In this day and age, perception becomes a reality and the real perception of default by the U.S., even though it was all manufactured by Marxists in Washington, became a reality that to win in 2012 you could not be blamed for if an agreement wasn’t reached. The GOP averted being blamed for an economic crisis with the deal.

I really don't care what the commies say or purport to "think" about us.

Neither do I and neither does the GOP leadership IMHO. However, they DO CARE ABOUT the general election voting public. And unfortunately that broad group of people includes a lot of misinformed but well-meaning people and an all too significant radical socialist America-hating Left. To successfully win an election with this electorate, a winning candidate needs to appeal to voters beyond the Tea Party movement. Reality bites.

Last one: I care a lot less about whether there is a tax hike for the zillionaires hidden in the bill.

Please don’t fall for the commies class warfare shtick. Believe it or not, the wellbeing and happiness of all Americans is intertwined and joined-at-the-hip with the fortunes of our wealthiest citizens (remember President Reagan's "trickle down economics" - it's true). That is just a part of capitalism and it is what fuels the juices of job-creating entrepreneurship. That’s a good thing, not a bad thing. So don’t let the Lefts’s socialist class warfare rhetoric allow you to think the "zillionaires" are the enemy. They are most certainly NOT.
