The House and Senate will convene at 1pm today. The House will likely go out of session after a vote on the Reid plan to raise the debt limit, while the Senate will stick around until 1 am Sunday to vote to end debate on the plan.

3:18pm | Running out of time.
Reid tells GOP Senators they have until midnight tonight to relay any changes and to get them into his compromise plan. Reid must file cloture by then to set up a final vote on Tuesday.
I noticed a Democrat was against and pulled that vote last minute too.
My first thought was "Imagine having this rambling loon as your boss....". Sigh....

No one said anything about abandoning them, just stop sending them money (along with everyone else) when WE ARE BROKE.
We won't get it out of the alphabet networks.
On an aside, would it be all that traumatic if we just didn't have a bill and we just stopped the spending?
It would at least keep these spending "Tasmanian devils" in check before we are so far gone that we can't recoup.

This suggests anything that is going to happen will happen before midnight. GOP Senators should demand actual votes on the House proposals rather than bill tabling measures.
There's only been ONE bipartisan debt bill passed: "Cut, Cap & Balance".

A White House official said President will meet with Leader Reid and Leader Pelosi at the White House at 3:30 pm to receive an update on the situation in the House and Senate. Meeting is closed press.
