Apple holding more cash than USA

Apple now has more cash to spend than the United States government.

Latest figures from the US Treasury Department show that the country has an operating cash balance of $73.7bn (£45.3bn).

Apple's most recent financial results put its reserves at $76.4bn (£46.9bn).

The US House of Representatives is due to vote on a bill to raise the country's debt ceiling, allowing it to borrow more money to cover spending commitments.

If it fails to reach an agreement, the federal government is likely to hit its $14.3 trillion (£8.7tn) dollar limit.

The United States is currently spending around $200bn (£122bn) more than it collects in revenue every month.

Apple, on the other hand, is making money hand over fist, according to its financial results.

In the three months ending 25 June, net income was 125% higher than a year earlier at $7.31bn (£4.6bn).

We need to send troops to surround all the apple stores and Steve Jobs house and make them explain how to run a business. Then put all of the members of congress in Apple stores and their employes in congress.

Makes you wonder what kind of tax and regulatory exemptions Apple could win in exchange for a little short term financing.

Obviously we need to confiscate Apple’s cash reserves and add them to the Treasury.

I’m OK with the first half of that (although I think congress should have to work at blue collar jobs for awhile so they can understand the physical sacrifices made by people that really do work for a living). But if you fill congress with Apple store employees, the gay agenda is going to move forward a lot faster than it is now!

How come Apple, and the rest of the techs don’t get the same treatement by the Progressives that the oil and gas industry does???

Funny story. I had a buddy who was heavily into Dell stock back in the late 90’s. One morning I walked into work and asked him if he heard the news that Dell had a Y2K problem. He immediately grabbed the phone and started dialing his brokers number. I said, “Why 2K for a $500 computer.”

where’s the hue and cry for a windfall profits tax? If Exxon is making too much money-then Apple surely is as well.

Time to mandate that Apple products lower energy use by 50% - that should punish them enough for a while.

Apple got its money by voluntary payment rather than by forced confiscations like the government.

More people are willing to pay for Apple products. The people that are paying for what the government produces are merely funding the folks who just want to ride in the wagon.

Wait! Is Apple paying its 'fair share'??

Is Apple 'sharing the pain'??

I'm thinking, From Apple according to ability, to the U.S. Government according to need. That's the way the dimocrat party wants to do it, right??

More likely the government will send troops to Apple to confiscate their "fair share", whatever that is, for "the common good."
