A Department of Defense official tells CNN's Barbara Starr that a search of the hotel room found Pfc. Naser Jason Abdo had enough to make two bombs. The ingredients included gunpowder, shotgun shells, a pressure cooker, 18 pounds of sugar used to enhance the explosion and Christmas lights to be used as a timer.
At the surplus store Abdo bought a uniform and asked to have Fort Hood patches sewn on.

Tiny news articles. Big Media must be working hard to cover it up.

And the DoD had granted the S.O.B. conscientious objector status — what a joke. Of course found with kiddie porn, like all the Muzzie goat-****ers. What, no lap dances a the local strip club? Dad-blasted Amish!

CNN) -- An AWOL Muslim American Army private arrested near Fort Hood, Texas, told investigators that he wanted to attack fellow soldiers outside Fort Hood, two law enforcement officials said Thursday.

“Sugar?”
It is combustible. Add the right oxidizer, and you have some low order explosives.

“Probably confectioneers sugar then?”
No, you can use table sugar. Mix it with the right oxidizer (potassium nitrate usually), and you have a fuel-oxidizer mixture. People use this mixture to make homemade model rocket engines sometimes.
To: Boogieman
Interesting. I would guess though that the finer grind sugars would lend themselves to faster reaction rates. Or is it not enough of a difference to matter?

Interesting. I would guess though that the finer grind sugars would lend themselves to faster reaction rates. Or is it not enough of a difference to matter? It matters. Too fine, it compacts and it burns slowly rather than the ignition propagating along the surfaces. It's the reason gunpowder is granulated rather than a fine powder.
