On the same day that House Speaker John Boehner told Republicans to "Get your asses in line" and support his debt ceiling proposal, Sen. John McCain also blasted fellow Republicans.
In a Senate floor speech laced with sarcasm and stings, the Arizona Republican aimed especially harsh fire at the tea party Wednesday.
McCain said the movement is "foolish" to think a balanced budget amendment could pass before the August 2 deadline. At one point, McCain read from an op-ed in Wednesday's Wall Street Journal. That article referred to activists as "tea party hobbits" – the little people who inhabit Middle-earth in the Lord of the Rings series.
McCain – 2008's Republican presidential nominee – also blasted as "bizarre" an idea supported by current GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, though McCain did not mention her by name.
McCain's fiery language comes amid competing Democratic and Republican plans to reduce the deficit.
McCain also blasted Democrats in his speech. He called the plan from Majority Leader Harry Reid "full of smoke and mirrors," and said President Barack Obama is leading "from behind" by not offering "a specific plan that perhaps could be considered by both bodies."

McCain is hyper sensitive about appearance’s. This senile old man suspended his presidential election campaign to rush back to DC because he thought it would show that he was concerned. What is at stake now is much more then superficial appearance’s Johnny Boy.

I am in awe of the suffering he endured in the service of his country when he was a captive in North Vietnam and acquitted himself with honor, dignity and courage.

I do not know who in the hell Senator McCain is, I just wish he would go away.

I apologize to all I attempted to coerce into voting for McCain in 2008 by using obama as the greater fear/danger.
I also deeply regret my earlier votes for him, in fact, among my very first votes as an eligible voter included a vote for McCain all those years ago.
For those votes, and any support I've given him since, I apologize to the nation. He seemed like an honest to gawd war hero back then...but I know that ignorance is no excuse for my errors in judgment. Not then and certainly not now.

We could scream. The AZ GOP betrayed us and kept the open primaries, which swung the vote in favor of mclame in the primaries. Libs crossed over and knew he'd be as good as any democrat, and put him over.
I became a registered Indy after that. It doesn't matter down here. Anyone can crossover and request a ballot from another party.

McCain is known for a lot more than three things.
What about divorcing his first wife because she was disabled
What about fooling around while he was married
What about driving the relatives of MIA’s and POW’s to tears by his abuse
What about covering up the hundreds of MIAs who were left behind, possibly alive, in Vietnam. For this alone he is clearly not a man of honor.
