I understand this but there is another argument for the life of the mother being more/less important than that of the baby (which may or may not live anyway).

Again when did I ever say that? I’ve said 3 or 4 times on this thread that I think Roe should be overturned. If that happens this issue goes back to the states. Btw, the Right to Life Act was introduced in January 2007. Last time I checked the Dems controlled both houses of congress in 2007.

I'm fine with Bachmann too, she's in my final four at this point. Palin, Perry, Cain, and Bachmann. ;-)

I think it's obvious to all but the willfully blind that Palin, Perry, Cain and Bachmann are staunchly committed to preserving, protecting, and defending life from conception through birth and beyond, just as you and I most certainly are, even though we may not all rely on the exact same approach.

I see it as war, a war against all that is unholy, the Godless secular left in particular. We must fight it with everything we have, from all directions, all tactics and strategies that result in even the smallest victory must be embraced and encouraged. The cumalative effort will be the saving of many innocent lives.

The first step is naturally to get rid of Roe. One of the worst decisions ever. I don’t deny that right now banning it at a state level would be easier than amending the 14th amendment. But just because that’s easier to do doesn’t make it morally right. No state or federal government should be in the business of granting natural rights. Murder is already illegal in every state. Abortion is murder and therefore should be illegal.

If Perry is such a strong supporter of States’ Rights, then he should remain governor and forget about POTUS.

That would make sense, if he believed that only Texas had rights.

Check it out -- at which level of government is every other kind of murder dealt with? THE STATE LEVEL. That's all Perry is saying -- it's not a federal issue.

The Tenth Amendment refers to "powers," not "rights."

And no governmental entity or individual has any legitimate "right" to alienate unalienable rights. All they have is a sacred obligation before God to protect the rights of the individual, beginning with the right to life.

He's correct because if Roe vs. Wade was voided legality would return to being determined by the states.

Besides, abortion already *IS* a state's rights issue. Abortion is regulated differently in Indiana than in California.

LEGALIZING the murder of CERTAIN PEOPLE by private citizens is an entirely distinct matter.
