Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid warned Tuesday that the House Republicans' deficit-reduction bill is "dead on arrival" in his chamber, as the Obama administration issued a formal veto threat and pushed lawmakers to reach a "compromise." At the same time, House conservatives began to peel off from the bill being pushed by House Speaker John Boehner.
White House officials appeared to hold back earlier Tuesday when asked whether President Obama would veto the GOP bill, which could be voted on in the House as early as Wednesday. Later, the administration issued what's known as a "statement of administration policy" saying the president's advisers "would recommend that he veto this bill" should it clear Congress.

But, we gotta keep fighting. We can't let them win!
OMG, I just spewed iced tea all over my keyboard! As ‘Larry the Cable Guy’ would say: “Now that there’s funny.”
[Its about spending, and frankly, a sharp cut to FY2012 spending is ALSO fiscal contraction and will spike unemployment.]
Yup, we are screwed short term no matter what. But the Keynesian analysis doesn’t hold long term, higher spending creates only worthless government jobs which cripple the economy. So you have to take the bitter pill.
I think I agree with you. Obama is hardly exhibiting profound concern, is a bore when speaking of the issue and in general appears done with the presidency except for what he can bring down before he leaves office. Like the country. These are communists and they seem to be in a hurry pretending they care about default, which would only serve to strengthen their hand in undoing the country, making it easier to fundamentally change the USA, IF you can get it done while still in power.
Coming from a mob-connected criminal that sounds like a threat.
“”saying the president’s advisers “would recommend that he veto this bill””
Does the man not make any of his own decisions? We need to know just who these advisers are. Carney is referred to as an “adviser” most of the time instead of a press secretary.
to which the lady bartender kept trying to figure out who Boehner Bill was and why was he dead.
He had an erection that lasted more than 4 hours and failed to seek immediate medical attention.
The average Obama supporter is only vaguely aware he or she is alive. They have the brain matter of a turnip.
Think about this. How can a nation survive with these pukes & then think that pelose was in that mix.
Shagalicious.
That wording is the exact speech that needs tone made. Just add one more sentence: "We eagerly await the President's written plan and the Senate's 2012 budget proposal, neither of which we have yet to see." Are you paying attention Mr. Speaker. We know how to deal with the low life scum sucking POS POTUS. Why don't you? Too use to that old "go along to get along" way of doing business. Wake up, Wimpy, time to put away the hanky and be a man.
Bingo. The 10-year window is simply a device to avoid responsibility
Looking at the CBO report O-Bummer and Pinky screwed up.
The actual cuts in the latest bill were insignificant, fast-tracking the latest house bill would have mostly given the D’s what they claim to want.
When the details came out afterward the R’s would have looked stupid, again.
The D’s are so locked into “NO!” that they cut themselves off at the knees!
Now Bohner and the house have time to rework their bill.
