World Net Daily officially 7th Day Adventist?
July 24, 2011 | Self

I just received an email from World Net Daily advertising some books. Not unusual, as I'm on their list, and they send ads all the time. What is strange though, is the fact that all the books in this ad are religious AND take the oddball "7th-day Sabbath" position--definitely a very minority position among conservative evangelicals, and Christians of all stripes.

The ad also hints at some dark conspiracy amidst conventional Christians, accusing us of not reading the bible carefully.

Some evangelical apologists too categorize Adventism (which started with those who firmly predicted Jesus to come again in the 1840s) itself is at least an eccentric sect, following Old Testament and extra-biblical regulations, if not a cult, not unlike many others that got founded about that time.

Is World Net Daily now officially Adventist?

No matter what title Christian Churches use, they are all man made, starting with Martin Luther, John Calvin and many others. There is but one church, Jesus Christ. There is but one way to heaven, Jesus Christ.

Before writing off some of these articles as 7th Day Adventist, look a lil closer.

The Catholic Church though out history routinely incorporated local custom, lore and traditions into Catholicism in order to pull folks into the church.

Examples: Adorning trees with gold and silver, Easter eggs/rabbits, Sunday sabbath rather than Saturday.

If one does an in depth study, Easter as we know it is the celebration of the risen Lord. The eggs/rabbits and Ester all originate from the fertility goddess.

7th Day Adventists are a cult, just like Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Armstrongism, and many others. I broke off contact with a group of people on Facebook because I discovered they were 7th Day.

I’m no fan of the Nut but they sell what they are paid to sell. They probably have an agreement with a publication company and go through various campaigns targeting different audiences.

The term sabbath means rest day, that is all it means.

However, Jews do differentiate from the seventh day rest day, Sabbath, and other rest days, sabbaths.

When Paul is using the term sabbath, and not Sabbath, he is referring to rest days that commemorate important dates within the Jewish calendar, but he is not referring to the Sabbath.

“7th Day Adventists are a cult”

****

Bingo.

Living by the writings of “Prophetess” Ellen G. White, a woman whose visions are (a) attributed to God, (b) caused by a rock hitting her in the face, or (c) plagiarized writings of her failed author husband James that he stole from other authors.

Belief in SDA tenets means suspending reason. And cult tactics are used to accomplish this.

SDA’s are not a cult. Most believe in the Triune God and that Christ is fully man and fully God. We just happen to believe that the commandments, which were written on the heart of Adam, but had to be written on stone at Sinai, to which will eventually be written again on the heart of man at the Second Coming, were not invalidated at the Cross.

What was invalidated was the sacrificial system, which had always pointed at the cross and was fulfilled at Christ’s death.

Ultimately all religions are cults. It all boils down to somebody told me something extraordinary happened, I believe it, that settles it.

Paul wrote in all caps! (Uncials)

But I understand the distinction you are trying to make.

Why you upset? No one can find in the Bible where Sunday replaces Saturday for the Sabbath. Epistle of Galatians speaks of Jewish believers trying Judaized Gentiles yet Paul had Timothy circumcised. I think Adventist are concerned and rightly so when the Church uses the state to enforce Sunday worship. When is there going to be someone to speak out on Gentile church being Gentilizers?

take the oddball "7th-day Sabbath" position--

If one were to carefully read the Holy Word of G-d,
one would realize that the seventh day is the Sabbath.

So that would include Darwinism and Big Bangism, right?

Only to the degree that one does not look at the rocks for themselves.

And there are plenty of people who don't, so yes, for many Darwinism, the Big Bang, and Electricity Comes From Wall Sockets are articles of faith.
