It’s "[crap]" (unnamed Conrgressman: Boehner is getting nervous)

A House Republican who is in leadership called me tonight. He said what we are hearing about — the two tier plan — is “sh*t” and he’s blaming Boehner. He agrees that Boehner is getting nervous and wants a deal.

But this two tier plan seems to be the Republicans’ initial offer. Harry Reid is headed that way. Many Democrats want more.

So keep in mind for purposes of negotiations, House Republican leadership members are already referring to the starting point as “sh*t” and it will only get worse from here.

One of the ways they’ll claim they are cutting $1 trillion is by pretending the Iraq and Afghan wars no longer exist. They’ll also do another deficit commission.

There have been 17 such deficit commissions in the past 30 years. The net result? Taxes have gone up with just about each one and spending has never actually been reduced. We’ve gone from $1 trillion in national debt to $14 trillion.

Also, the GOP leadership seems to want another debt ceiling vote before the election. This would be political suicide for the GOP. They’d vote to increase the debt ceiling and Barack Obama would get a definite PR win by looking bipartisan right before an election.

I think the congressman is right. This is sh*t.

Boehner agreed to this as per Redstate..AND FOX NEWS.

Why is it so important to you for me to answer?

Yes, it's a gimmick and no I don't support it. But that's not the important question, the important question is, is this article accurate? I don't know.

I'll answer when I'm convinced this is reality.

You don't like that? Tough.

I am not believing a word of it, un-named this, bla, bla bla...

But...

Mark Levin noted the other night the 14th Amendment does not give Obozo the authority to spend but to make the cuts to bring it into balance, i.e. under the debt limit and make the hard choices as to who gets paid and who doesn't.

The American Thinker article that Reid will not bring it to the floor ( CC& B ) because the votes are their for it with dem's in less than safe seats.

The real looser here? The Dysfunctional RNC for not getting 2 or 3 more seats in the Senate, and McConnell. IMHO he is toast politically, we are so over him. Reid needs to be put in a political box via a super majority after 2012 where he do flap his gums on the floor but can do no harm.

IMHO if you take the fact that CC & B forces the POTUS's hand and that we have the votes in the Senate we are in a win situation. Reid and the Bordello they call the Senate is the problem...

It was Coburn and the Gang of 6 that undermined Boehner and Demint in both chambers.

Your ire at Boehner is unfounded. Trash Dems, not Boehner, Cantor, McCarthy.

Boehner said there was no plan but then said he walked away when Obama wanted to add new taxes to the plan. Didn’t a plan have to exist before it could be changed?
BTW HuffPo is also reporting on the 2 tier plan.

You wrote: “it going to be up to the Tea Party and Conservative Republicans to fight this battle..and perhaps up to Cantor who wants to overthrow Boehner”

Looks as if they’ve found a way to by-pass conservatives. They’re following Trent Lott’s admonishment regarding the TEA Movement’s success in last years’ November election: “When they get here, we need to co-opt them.”

Not only do you have to pass it to see what’s in it, they're in a hurry.
To much in a hurry and it reminds me of RAT tactics.

I don't think Boehner cares what we want, he only cares about his career and that gavel. /imo

It will mean, at the least, that the two most productive tax deductions, charitable giving and home mortgage, will go by the wayside. Symbolically, that means that the middle class should BOHICA.

JimDeMint Jim DeMint #CutCapBalance is 4 Dem votes away from passing. I’ll force another vote on the only plan that can end this debt crisis. Demint was ready to force a vote. And Boehner cut him off at the knees.

Sounds good, but how can he force a vote when the Senate Dems are staying in lock-step?

You won’t answer the question....because it shows he is caving.

Think the House isn’t in revolt against Boehner’s caving??? You aren’t paying attention.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2753142/posts?page=1

Why is it important to listen to rumors from reliable sources??

Because if you sit on your hands for an announcement FROM WHO????? Fox News isn’t good enough...so WHO??? wait for it from Boehner??? then it will be too late.

“The bill has not been entirely killed. The House does not have to re-send the CCB in order for the Senate to reconsider it after it has been tabled. If DeMint can get enough votes, he can force Reid to bring it back to the floor from the table.”

http://hotair.com/archives/2011/07/22/breaking-senate-shoots-down-ccb-51-46/
Demint was fighting for CCB and Boehner is trying to cut him off.

I posted this from Redstate very early this morning to the American Public True Conservatives could try to do something about this.

Those that sit around and wait for a “proper “ announcement that Boehner caved will rue the day...because they could have tried to do something about it had they been proactive.

The members that are in revolt need support.

And why should some "anonymous source" be believed?

Sheesh. Some people really are grasping at straws.

"Demint was ready to force a vote. And Boehner cut him off at the knees."

From what I heard Boehner and Demint were in contact on how to go about having a vote and an immediate response either way the vote went when Reid let it be known that he was ending the session. That's hardly something Boehner can do anything about. Don't be surprised if there ends up being a vote on something nearly identical to the original after all the dust and propaganda settles. That's what I hear from my unnamed sources.

"Sheesh. Some people really are grasping at straws."

People also don't seem to realize that members in the House aren't above playing their own games to get ahead in the House leadership. If Boehner goes to the wall on this and succeeds, three or four up and coming members are going to be looking at a somewhat slower progression than they have imagined for themselves.

The better Boehner does, the more stories like this you'll see because several people have already gone out on a limb in hopes of taking advantage of the situation if Boehner folds. As soon as Boehner broke off talks and repeated the Barry Jell-o remarks, bunko like this tidbit started flowing to anyone who would listen. Whether Redstate is usually reliable or not, a House member with plans of their own isn't above making someone like Redstate look stupid if it furthers that members plans.

Everything I’ve read this afternoon seems to point to a deal with the senate but the “cuts” may indeed be phony. No tax increases, and a vote on Wednesday. 0 will sign anything they send him (of course) and take credit (naturally).
