A House Republican who is in leadership called me tonight. He said what we are hearing about — the two tier plan — is “sh*t” and he’s blaming Boehner. He agrees that Boehner is getting nervous and wants a deal.
But this two tier plan seems to be the Republicans’ initial offer. Harry Reid is headed that way. Many Democrats want more.
So keep in mind for purposes of negotiations, House Republican leadership members are already referring to the starting point as “sh*t” and it will only get worse from here.
One of the ways they’ll claim they are cutting $1 trillion is by pretending the Iraq and Afghan wars no longer exist. They’ll also do another deficit commission.
There have been 17 such deficit commissions in the past 30 years. The net result? Taxes have gone up with just about each one and spending has never actually been reduced. We’ve gone from $1 trillion in national debt to $14 trillion.
Also, the GOP leadership seems to want another debt ceiling vote before the election. This would be political suicide for the GOP. They’d vote to increase the debt ceiling and Barack Obama would get a definite PR win by looking bipartisan right before an election.
I think the congressman is right. This is sh*t.
it going to be up to the Tea Party and Conservative Republicans to fight this battle..and perhaps up to Cantor who wants to overthrow Boehner

Maybe you could wait till he actually DOES, before posting it as Breaking News? This is just another rumor, of which I lost count around Wednesday.
I kinda have the same reaction. But, consider that with all the skullduggery going on and all the spin being put out, each piece of information can have value.
Now, if this is just completely made up, then the source site should be blacklisted from being posted. However, if that site has at least a decent reputation for accuracy, I say let’s see how it fits.
Many of us here knew this would happen. The only reason it didn’t happen sooner is because of the new Republicans and the Tea Party.
I am not sure there are enough numbers of Real Conservatives but you have got to get to them to see if they can stop this from happening.
Clearly some are on the fence.
I think I’d rather see him actually cave before I call him on it.

You have already seen him cave. Multiple times.
They have passed a plan. Reid Tabled it. Demint is talking about forcing a vote.
But Boehner caved first.
Not to mention that he, himself, indicated he caved and gave in on huge tax increases. But walked away when Bambi wanted even more.
This has been bungled from the beginning. Boehner would have negotiated something to sell us down the river if it wasn’t for that block of new conservatives.

Yes, that is Boehner caving..resorting to gimmicks like this is not reducing the spending.
I know who RedState is. I’m still going to wait for confirmation. I agree with don-o that if it’s false, RedState should be banned as a source.
Too many years in Washington destroys them all.
